in a 42 yr. old adult alcoholic male who smokes marijuana daily? (and has done so since age 11). What sort of diseases or conditions could be responsible for this weird ugly nail fungus? This male has had chronic and life-long stomach problems, and had a pyloric stenosis operation as a baby, wherein he was fed through a tube in his head, and had to have part of the intestinal tract removed. I am not sure what causes this condition in anyone, so I am interested in learning of any possible culprits, or I'd like to hear back from anyone at all who is experiencing, or has ever experienced, this unsightly fungal phenomenon. Or if you are a Dr., or someone knowledgeable about this condition and can possibly tell me what it is and how to get rid of it.....please. Anyone who is serious, please please respond. Anything you have to share is beyond gratefully appreciated, and eagerly awaited.

I doubt the discoloration under your nails is fungus, much more likely it is tar from your smoking. Yes, marijuana does produce tars just like cigarettes.

Knowing you... Under your fingernails it's probably tiny plastic pieces from you holding the remote so tight. And in your ears it must be from the head set you wear when you are gaming on line. It doesn't grow it compiles in and/or underneath. :)

You should go see a doctor instead of asking the idiots on this site.
