It is not too soon to get engaged after 6 months if you have been in A LOT of relationships in the past and no exactly what you are looking for and know exactly what you are NOT looking for. In other words, if you know that this person is perfect for you and you have no doubts, then you should do it. But you should consider having at least a 1 year engagement, just to be extra sure.

I think it's WAY too soon. Maybe unless you've known him for a longer time before you started dating. You can't really get to know anyone in only 6 months. Or you could always get engaged as long as it's a long engagement and you wait a decent amount of time to actually get to know each other well enough to decided to be with them forever.

yes that is way too soon 6 months is not at all enough time to be getting engaged to someone. you should know a person for at least a year before you move intogether, and you should live with them for at least 2 years, because the first year you live together is always good its the second year that you find out how they really are.

I actually dated, moved in and married my wife of ten years within the six months. Many did not believe we would make it past a year but now I have two beautiful girls so it really depends on both of you and working through the difficult times you will face together, knowing that neither of you have all the answers but together you will find the best possible solution. Not fearing failure, knowing that each of you has a different needs, and accepting each other for who you really are I think are key traits that you must posses for any relationship to mature and grow. Love each of you unconditionally no matter what faults you may find later on in life and remember you chose you current situation and only as both of you working as a unit may you come through any situation that you find difficult.

It depends, if you knew the person prior to dating, then it could be okay to get engaged, but if you've only known them for 6 months, give it more time

you can never really be sure... my parents knew each other for 19 days before getting engaged, and they've been happily married for 42 years. It all depends on the people involved.

No. There is no set time limit that is just right. I know a couple who got married 6 weeks after they met and were married happily for 30 years (til he died). My ex-husband and I dated two years before we got married and were divorced eight years later. So, if after 6 months, you know this is the one for you, why wait?
