I recently moved furniture in my living room and there are now indentations left in the carpet. How can I bring my carpet back to life and remove these dents?

Once upon a time I thought I had heard that if you put ice cubes on the spot that will help remove indentations.......but in doing a search for info for you I didn't see that but did find the following info......hope it helps...

Depressions or Indentations
The weight of heavy pieces of furniture can cause indentations in carpet. Some depressions may be permanent. Use furniture glides or cups under the legs of heavy pieces, or move your furniture a few inches backward or sideways so that the weight is not concentrated in one place. To remedy depressions, work the carpet pile back into place with your fingertips or the edge of a spoon, and then, dampen the area and heat with a hair dryer, working the fibers with the fingers or a spoon.

I watched a commercial on TV the other day on this problem. Move furniture and put an ice cube on indented spot and the carpet fibers soak up water as the ice cube melts and the fibers expand. I' haven't tried it but hey it could work. Good luck.

I have heard that you can help remove indentations by putting ice cubes in the indentations & letting them melt & then blotting it. Then brush gently. Hope this works for you.

Here's what I've done in the past. Used a fork to brush up the fibers, then used an iron on the steam setting (not touching the carpet).

place an ice cube in each indentation---let it melt, wait for it to dry, fluff up to original form.

I read xenon's answer and then I thought maybe a deep steam cleaning might help

Damp cloth and an iron. The steam lifts the fibers
