It not like rules, they are commandments that we follow. We have:
*Law of chastity: No sexual behavior if it is not with your spouse. It is also not having sexual thoughts and the way you dress.
*Word of wisdom: Take care of your body because your body is your temple and the temple of the Holy Spirit. In order to follow that, we avoid drugs, tobacco, alcohol, tea and coffee, the last two ones because "hot drinks are not for the body nor for the belly." We avoid anything that can lead to an addiction because we are not supposed to be addicted to anything but God's love.
*Law of tithing: We pay 10% of our earnings. It is a commandment, word of God.
*Sabbath day: We save the sabbath day (Sunday) because it is the Lord's day. We don't buy that day (unless it is really neccesary) and we just go to church and spend time with family and friends and read scriptures. Chill at home.
*Fasting: The first Sunday of the month we fast and give our testimonies at church. There are people that fay fasting donations. By fasting you get blessings.
Go to http://www.lds.org and http://www.mormon.org for more information, hope this helps!!!! ^_^

To begin with, the actual name of our church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We prefer to be referred to as LDS. "Mormon" is a nick name.
Check out our official web site (link below). There are links where you can ask for the Missionaries in your area to come tell you more. You can also receive a FREE copy of the Bible (KJV) and/or the Book of Mormon. You can also locate your nearest meeting house and attend services. First Sunday is usually the best. That day is set aside for fasting and for the members to bear their testimonies of the truthfullness of the Gospel to the congregation. Kinda like "open mike night". There is also many other freebies the Church sends out: videos, pamphlets, etc. All without obligation. Please don't let the former members of our faith dissway you from your investigation. Study and make your own decision.

That is such a broad question, where would I start?
The Mormon religion is otherwise known as "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints". As the name suggests, we believe in Jesus Christ, that he is our Saviour, etc. We believe that we need to try and perfect ourselves, ie, become "saints". We believe we are living the the "last days" before the second coming of Christ. We learn many practical and spiritual things to prepare us for hard times, so that we can help humanity and be as self-reliant as possible, within our family groups.
Family is very important to us, and we believe that we can be together as family units in eternity. We also believe in eternal progression, ie, that there is no end to the learning and growth that we can achieve by following the laws and guidance of God.
As some others have suggested here, read the Book of Mormon as a start.
You can read it online here:
http://scriptures.lds.org/en/bm/contents
Alternatively, go to http://www.mormon.org and you can ask to be contacted directly by the missionaries. They will give you a free copy of the Book of Mormon.
If you have any more questions, feel free to email me! I, too, am very curious about other religions, and would love to learn what you know, too.
Your sister,
MumOf4
P.S. One custom we have is to call everyone "brother" or "sister", lol. :-)

We are The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints. We are followers of Jesus Christ.
Most Mormons do not drink alcohol, coffee or tea, and don't use tobacco or drugs. We teach chastity, modesty (but not prudishness), and good works. We also believe in taking care of each other.

1we belive in god the eternal father and in his son jesus christ and in the holy ghost
2We believe that man will be punished for their own sins and not for adams transgession
3we belive that through the atonement of christ all mankind may be saved by obedeance to the laws and ordanances of the gospel
4we believe that the first princibles and ordanances of the gospel are first, faith in the lord jesus christ, second, repentance, third baptism by emersion for the remission of sins, fourth, laying on of hands for the gift of the holy ghost
5We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God
9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God
10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal gglory.
11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
these are the articles of faith. they explain about 95% of what we believe

They aren't rules, but choices. No one HAS to obey them but most members do. We don't do drugs, drink coffee/tea, we abstain from pre-marital sex. We are encouraged not to date until we are sixteen and also encouraged not to have a second set of earrings (besides the one pair in our ears). We wear modest clothing (no visible midriffs, sleevless, short shorts, or low cut shirts). We watch clean movies (no rated R) and this applies to all media. We don't swear . . . Once you learn the reasons for these things and you live them and have no problem following them.
