Friend, there is NO good witchcraft. You are not in control of situations in such a way...things dealing with witchcraft is from an evil nature, and YOU are not the one that will be in control. Please, do not even give this mess a second thought. Go to the Bible for the outcome of dealing with evil intentionally such as witchcraft...I pray that a hedge of protection be put around you right now, and any answers that speak to your curiosity with it, be shielded from your heart. I ask the Lord to protect you and to draw you to Him and use you for His glory! Blessings!

Contrary to what some people THINK, witchcraft is inherently good. Wars have never been started by witches, they are not bombers (suicide or abortion clinic or anything else) and we don't hate or kill anyone just because they choose to believe differently! Nor do we try to convert people, they must come to this path on their own, no pressure.

But first I have a couple of questions for you to really ponder and be completely honest.
1. Why do you want to practice witchcraft?
2. What lead you to this path?
3. What do you expect to gain from it?

If your answer to ANY of these questions is "power", forget it. It just does not work that way. If it did we would surely take the blinders off of the "good Christians" who condemn anything they choose not to understand.

READ!!! Find out which denomination you would prefer. You may find your answer in, Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft.

I would not bother with any type of initiation or gathering of ritual tools until you find which path you are going to follow. I have many more tools than most, but then, I have been practicing for a very long time. My particular path essentially needs only a Staff, Dirk (athame) and a Keek-Stane (or crystal ball). Other tools can be acquired as needed.

I am Pecti-Witan (aka Hedge Witch, not Wiccan) a "solitary" practitioner of "the Old Religion", and have been for many, many years. As you have noted, being a "Witch" is nothing like what is portrayed in movies or on Television. There is nothing flashy about it. we are fairly simple people with "abilities" that everyone has, ours are just honed and utilized. Lots of research and practice. There is a lot to learn when you are dealing with herbal, mineral and candle magick.
As you have probably noticed, you also have to have a thick skin, because even in this "advanced" civilization there are still those who believe we worship the devil (LMAO), and would rather turn a blind eye to the world around them. Some will even admit that they think we should be burned at the stake! Ignorance knows no bounds.
If you are very young, expect ridicule and really stupid requests to do "Magic" like they do on TV or in movies. It is not going to make you cool. Expect people to tell you that you are going to Hell. You will probably lose friends. Just being honest with you.
I hope you find the answers you were looking for.

Wicca is great.
It's the one religion that so new that it hasn't been corrupted by an orthodoxy yet. No two Wiccans believe exactly the same thing, and they aren't trying to find that kind of unity. I think every Wiccan I've met knows full well evolution isn't just an opinion.

In fact they seem to be the only religion that doesn't confuse the words Hypothesis and Theory.

I wish everyone that ever said "It's just a Theory" knew how stupid that statement was.

Since wrong vs right is very subjective how can you be sure you'll actually be working stuff on the side of right?

All witchcraft even passifist wicca can let you do that. However, to be successfull you have to learn to question yourself constantly.

There isn't anything good in witchcraft, none at all. All witchcraft is from Satan. There isn't any good in him or any of his 'crafts' or deeds. Anything to do with Satan is dangerous and deadly. He is the opposite from God. God kicked him out of Heaven because he thought he was better than God. God put him in his place and reminded him he was only an angel, one of God's favorite and spoiled rotten, but only an angel. A bad one, the worse, and he doesn't have any power to right the wrong. Only God has the power, if it's His will. We all will stand before God and be judged for the wrong we have done. BUT if we ask Jesus into our heart, and really mean it and ask Him to forgive us our sins, He will and He won't remember them any more. Zip gone. He will do that again and again and again, his mercy knows no limit! God is good, Satan is worse than bad!! For you and for the sake of your family, don't invite Satan into you life! Please, I beg you! I ask God in His mercy to put a hedge of protection around you and your loved ones. And that He draw you close and wrap you in His arms of love. Thank you Jesus, Amen, Amen, Amen. Praise be your name Lord Jesus!!

You watch too many movies. That isn't what witchcraft is about.

Stay away, run away from witchcraft. You do not want to get involved. I was doing it as a young child and it does not give you power over anything. It is a deception from satan. I saw, spoke to him and devils when I was involved. He did nothing but bring pain (physically) and sorrow. Stay away......
