what makes a man hit a woman?

I know woman hit men too but mostly men hit their woman. So i want to know why men feel the need to hit their woman?

I can only guess at this one, but I would assume that since two ppl are close and the man is stressing so badly about somthing you know the old saying you take it out on the ones you love. Well not that this is at all the least bit forgiveable.

I would never ever stay with a man that hit me. I would leave the very first time it happend and would not look back, have some respect for yourself and get out to if this is happening to you. One beating can turn into death thats all it takes. Love yourself and get out.

If this is happening to you good luck to you and I wish you the best of luck rebuilding your life with self love and respect. If this is not happening to you maybe somone who it is happening to can read this and get out alive while they can.

PS. it is also NOT ok for a women to hit a man either...we hear about this less often but it happens.

@ Corny - Are you asking so you can slap us down when we give an honest opinion or are you genuinely interested to hear everyone's views even if they don't contend with what yours may be? Not saying I agree or disagree (waiting for Corny before I expand on my answer) but it's refreshing to see someone who speaks realisitically. Everyone saying no in a society where domestic abuse is almost commonplace is laughable. Edit2: @Corny - Well, my answer is ANYONE can be deserving of a smack in the mouth. An old lady can push a man to want to punch her in the jaw, the wife moreso because it's like a constant nag at times and sometimes you feel backed in to a corner because where's the escape? A young healthy male can make you want to settle his score if he's mouthy, arrogant and disrespectful. The thing is, you just don't do it. I never have & would like to think I am being honest when I say, never will, but I'm only human. But I wouldn't go out of my way to wind up a man bigger & stronger than me so why do some women do that sh*t?

OMG I would like to know that too. I mean it's a disquousting thing. And most men stick up for other men that do it because they feel they must protect thier own kind..i think it's because we don't do something for them..i mean i am young but it's wrong.. and i know when i am grown and married that no man will ever hit me.I know how to fight.
I mean us woman cook and clean and usually take care of the kids that the men caused but yet they come home late at night drunk and hit you and say sorry baby the stress of work got into me.
But don't you ever wonder why it's an every day thing??I mean it's like a daily ruiteen..
We are woman.Us woman should bond together and show them men that we know how to fight and we won't take it anymore.
If woman would just stand up and show these men..and teach them who's boss..i mean we'd put an end to it.
And the woman who put up with it are just plain idiots.They said ohh but i am in love with him and he's just tired and confused..

He's a low life who needs to get it together or split and get into a mental institution and one of these days i will fight n make sure i put these men away.It's wrong..
