This list is just a small list if I were to list every time that Christians were attacked we would not have enough time to read it. Christians have been blamed for attacking when they were defending.

remember Christians are people too, and Churches are organizations made up by people, and the bigger the org, to more power, the more money, the more respect, one gets the more one demands, all those wars were caused by people satisfying there own interest, motivating other people with a common goal, Hitler motivated w/ anti-Semites, Klans men motivated w/ Race hatred. there are many people in this world w/ great power and many who abuse it. this is not a Christian problem it s human problem, christian have the problem oh backing the same pony too long, we understand the concept of absolute truth, unfortunately some absolute lies get mixed in, and laid down in our faith walls w/ the rest of the bricks, this makes us defensive of when people start picking at some of the bad bricks
sorry i know the structure of this is all screwed, but I've been on too long and my brain is crashing, but i couldn't let this go unanswered i hope i helped some, and happy hunting (for truth that is)

So what? You think your special? Thats happened everywhere. But no one has been worse than the Christians have been in the most terrible ways.
Do you know what the Christians did to torture people? There's a little device they invented that they inserted into a promiscous womans vagina. And then they slowly widened it using a lever over the period of months until her vagina litterally burst from the pressure. It killed her of course. The device was called "The Pear".
Or how about the "breast ripper" where they clamped onto a womans breast who'd been proclaimed guilty of heresy, blasphemy and adultery. Then they slowly ripped her breast from her body with a red hot "ripper".
Or how about the Heretics Fork, where a Heretic Had four sharp point jammed against his chin where he could barely murmur. If he refused to accept god, they led him to the stake.

Or how about pouring boiling oil into a victims mouth?
Did you know that the Christian church offered beheading services and took money for it?
In fact, they've been guilty of such horrible things to people, you might like to read this....

So... honestly you think that death is anything in comparison to the torture methods Christians have meeted out to others? Think again. Btw, these are only a tiny portion of the things the Inquisition used on its victims. Though, of course, they weren't just used by the Inquisition but by the religion at large.
Honestly get off your high horse.

Let's just consider the death toll at the hands of atheistic governments and groups in just the last century:
40-60 million by the Soviet Union...not including foreign wars.
70-100 million by Communist China
40 million as a result of WWII and the Holocaust - Nazi Germany
2-4 million - Pol Pot - Cambodia
2 million - Viet Nam - after the US left
1 million - Rwanda
1-2 million - Uganda
500000 - Chile
250000 - Philippines
2-3 million Angola
1+ million Burma

You're missing the much larger picture, which is the relentless clashing of religions, cultures, etc. down thru the ages.
"Who started it" is a rather silly thing to worry about in the face of conflicts like the Middle East where people have been fighting over the "holy land" for thousands of years. Everyone claims the other guy is at fault... and the bloodshed goes on and on and on...

I agree that your question is awfully one-sided to benefit Christians, and I think that you are definitely overlooking a great deal of other wars and battles. I don't believe that Christians are responsible for a lot of wars as much as nations and beauracracies are. All wars have a degree of religious ferver in them, but none, in my opinion, more than the holocaust and the current holy war on America. This just tells me that we're all pretty even on the playing ground for religious instigation.

your just naming a bunch of successive attacks in one time period. The jews were victims of captivity and war also. The muslims are now victims of war in iraq. For the past almost 200 years the wars have been largely due to the industrial rvolution and the conquest of oil rich territories.

every religion has had death upon them, why compare ? how about all the god fearing people who hanged blacks, witches, poor whites, whites that helped the blacks? the Jews? it goes on and on. the blame should Be on ignorance nothing more, and you can be a atheist , christian, satanist, pagan and so on. the world will never love each other enough to see past ignorance. i think your focus should not be about who is to blame but how to fix it..solutions are what is needed nothing more

Tell your "poor Christian" persecution sob story to the innocent women who were burned at the stake by the Church for "witchcraft."
Lion of Judah (above) doesn't realize that Fox's Book of Martyrs is mostly about Catholics killing Protestants. When Christians kill Christians you can't blame that on anyone but Christians.

The fact is, it is far more correct to say 'religion' is responsible for almost all conflict in the history of our species.

Also, the wars of the 20th century, whichhave killed more than all the past wars combined, had nothing to do withChristianity as the cause or sustainer.
Blaming Christianity for our modern wars is simply false.
