The big bang is a scientific theory because it fits all the evidence we've collected, but whether it's true or not it has absolutely no effect on me in any possible way, and I wouldn't be surprised if scientists didn't come up with a different idea tomorrow.

Willingness to accept new evidence isn't faith, it's reason.

A professor of religious studies and a teacher of mine, Wilfred Cantwell Smith, made a point of making a distinction between "faith" and "belief." Not everyone would agree, but I think the basic principle is sound:

"Faith" is a trusting willingness to be open to the truth. Healthy faith, in other words, is a kind of open-mindedness.

"Belief" can have a different quality, and turn into close-mindedness.

Although I do feel it's possible for there to be healthy belief, as well, especially when it is a matter of the heart rather than the intellect ... as is suggested in the etymological ties between the word "belief" and the word "belove."

considering the "big bang" is no closer to being proven since they found out that the universe is expanding ( a fact that was revealed to Muhammad in the Quran 1400 years ago (51:47)), this would mean that you have "faith"(belief that is not based on proof) in the "big bang"

Well... having faith is believing in something bigger than us.
Blanking your mind to society is throwing out petitions against people who don't think the way you do.
