Well,I suppose if one were teased a lot in junior high with irreparable damage to one's self-esteem,then one might feel a certain ill-natured disposition toward the common lot of humanity and - given the opportunity - seek opportunities to so to speak even the score. However I don't think that is what the ancient jewish storytellers were attempting to imply in their fable about Noah. But of course anything is possible. Let us say that young Yahwah, not yet a mountain god still less the master of time and space, suffered an agonizing period of teenage ostracism at god school - plagued also let us say with acne - then such ferocity would be at the least comprehensible. But one still wonders that a deed so dark as this should be celebrated in song and dance for 3000 years to come. Well, you never know. Obviously many people find inspiration in this jewish folktale of unbridled homicidal mania.

Floods do not have a good reason for doing something. There are reasons behind floods. ...say what you mean.
A good reason? None I would want to give energy to. Humanity has other choices. Just wiping people out will only see the woes of history repeat themselves.
Birth control, action against poverty, equal rights for all people particularly women and healing the social and biological environments of this planet. Doing these things would eliminate any 'so called' need or 'good reason' for wiping anyone out!!!!!!!
But are we smart enough to recognize this? Many are. Are there enough people who recognize this and act upon it to make a difference. Some are making a difference right now! Is it enough to save us? I do not know.
Peace, awareness and compassion!
