Do you have any other sources besides the bible or "scientists" who also make the statement, based on the bible.
There are multiple fields in science who work independent of each other and all came to around the same number, around 4.7 billion years.

I know I was when I asked a question like this. Honestly the amount of "satan put dinosaur bones in the ground to fool you" answers were simply staggering.
As my dad used to say; "you can lead an idiot to knowledge, but you can't make him think".
And he was SO right.

This implies man has only been around for the last 10,000 years based on modern understanding of civilization development and the earliest advancements in technology typically occurring about 500 years after the formation of a civilization of people.
Since scientific observation reasons that a creature like man with his wisdom and understanding is not supported by evidence to come about from natural means this implies that man was first created in the last 10,000 years.

A friend of mine is an airline pilot (first officer). When flying over the Grand Canyon his captain pointed to it and said, "Can you believe some people think that was formed over thousands of years? It could only have been formed during Noah's flood."
What can you say to that?

You can't take everything so literally... If people wanna believe the earth is whatever age they want, let them live their ignorance. It won't do you no harm.
