Hi,
Classic symbols are the phoenix, the bird that arises from the ashes, babies of all sorts, cosmic images (birth of a star, etc.), seedlings and sprouts.
There are more subtle images too, such as doorways and portals, rookies (such as a young firefighter hanging out with veterans, or young soldiers, athletes, etc. In religious contexts sometimes a moment of epiphany or revelation is used. Think Moses getting the commandments, or finding the tomb empty after Jesus is crucified him, the annunciation and the bhudda's enlightenment.

Of all of them, my personal favourite is the Phoenix. The Yin Yang is another, even though it doesn't represent a new beginning per se, but the endless cycles that we go through in life. An unconventional one that you might consider is Stonehenge, given that it points out the moment when the days stop getting shorter, and start getting longer again. You also might think about a caligraphy Kanje for "Birth" or "Beginning". Hope these help.

I believe that the Muslims do not use any symbol for God at all. However, some Muslims use "LAY" and 786 as the representation of "Bismillahur rahmanur rahim" or In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. However, a lot of other Muslims do not approve of that and consider this bida'a or innovation which is haram or forbidden. .

anything springtime, think easter, babies, baby animals, flowers, eggs, trees, an image of looking at the horizon, looking ahead, looking to the future, that kind of thing, the sunrise.
