This guy my brother sort of knew made some brownies and gave him a plate of them. My brother brought them home and he, my sister and I ate one, but noticed quickly after a bite or two they didn't taste right and left a burning sensation in our throats, we didn't finish eating them and threw them away. What could have been in them? Was it an accident or on purpose?

Without knowing the guy all that well you made the right decision to toss them out. However, inexperienced bakers can often use too much baking powder and, or baking soda and that can cause an odd taste and slight throat irritation.

lmao! Oregano?..... Rrrriiiiggghhht! Ok this is what you do.... use approx 5 grams of "oregano" grind it all up, obviously take out the "oregano" sticks and seeds if any mix it with whatever amount of cooking oil you will need you are not supposed to simmer it, the heat should be just below a simmer, as to not burn the "oregano" stir it around for about 20-25 minutes strain the oil from the "oregano" you should have about the same amt of oil you started out with mix brownies as instructed on box using the oil and bake til cooked

If you felt nothing, then NOTHING was in them but normal stuff (baking ingredients) and you probably wasted a perfectly good (yet DRY) batch of brownies... If anything HAD been in them, you would have felt SOMETHING strange and not just a burning in the throat... had he put laxatives in them, THAT you would have also been aware of shortly after injesting them.........

I dunno and I dunno. Could have been a food alergy. If you feel fine now I wouldn't worry about it too much.

You should be asking the guy that made them if there was anything in them.
