Can a mini Dachshund mate with a Shnauzer?

Technically speaking, any female dog can mate with any male dog regardless of breed. However, as a previous poster said, serious complications can occur if the female is smaller than the male and she gets pregnant.

If you were thinking of mating your dog, please reconsider. As adorable as puppies are, the pet overpopulation problem has reached a point at which no one other than top breeders should be mating dogs. There are literally millions of dogs in shelters and rescues that need homes. Let's all spay and neuter our pets unless we're trying to improve the breed.

yes I even know of someone who had a chihuahua stud and a greatdane b*tch and they were bred but not on purpose.The main thing is that if the female is smaller than the male than there is the chance the pups may be to big for teh female to deliver on her own and you can loose her/and/or the pups

you can breed pretty much any dog but then you will not have a purebred animal.
