is my chihuahua sick?

i just got my chihuahua today & he's a year old & i noticed that he's been sneezing a lot. his nose also feels dry. i was watching him sleep and also noticed his nose was a little runny. is there anything i can do (if he is sick) without taking him to the vet? he hasnt been vomiting

I'm sorry to hear but I think it will be alright. The only thing you can do is make sure it has plenty of clean water, food, and it's warm enough.

They can get allergies just like we can. That may be the reason for the sneezing. You might try removing certain items from his surroundings and see if it makes a difference. He might be allergic to something in his cage.

If your chihuahua has changed environments or states, he may have allergies. When the pollen comes out here in Ga my chihuahua sneezes a lot. Also, whenever we come home to visit my family, my dog's nose runs the first couple days because they have cats. They are like people in the sense that they can become sensitive to dander and such. I would just keep an eye on him unless it gets worse or doesn't get better.

Be sure you don't have anything like loose pesticide power lying around that he may have sniffed.

Otherwise, he should be fine.
