if you double the height of a baby on it's second birthday, that's how tall it will be as an adult

This is nonsense. My cousin's daughter was 3 feet tall on her second birthday, but she is in her 30s and only 5'4".
My son was supposed to be 5'6", but is already 5'9".
Usually, parents tend to be indicators of future height, but not always.
If you keep a copy of the growth chart at home, and see where her height range is throughout childhood, that is a much better indicator. [ example - always in 25th percentile ]

I've never heard that old wives tale before.. but if its true my son will be 6 ft 3 in tall as an adult.

I have heard this, but don't think it is true. One of my good friends younger sister was chunky as a child, but her family always said "she'll grow out of it, the doctor told us (when she was 2) she would be 6 feet tall when she is an adult, so we are not worried about it." She is now way over weight and nowhere near 6 feet tall. (She's now 18 years old)

I've heard it, but if that were true my 6yr old girl will be way over 6ft closer to 7 based on her height at 2 yrs old so I severely doubt it.

I've heard of this, but it's not accurate. When I was younger I looked on my height chart and calculated that I would be 5'10". However, I'm now fully grown and only 5'5".

I've heard that. My poor child will barely hit five feet, if that's the case. I have been told by one doctor that it's somewhat accurate, though. I'm still hoping for better things for my poor daughter....

Wow, never heard that one. Sometimes I have to wonder what people were smoking to come up with these things.
