A few hours ago, I posted the following question:

"According to Pascal's wager, shouldn't we all believe in the god who is best at torturing nonbelievers?"

The question was removed - nothing more than the nonspecific and impossible to respond to "violated community guidelines".

I can't see how the question violated community guidelines, but I know that all emails I send to customer care go unanswered.

So... should I just ignore it? Post the question again? Give up in disgust and stop wasting my time here?

(For bonus points, you can answer my original question, too)

Ignore it and move on.

You could try getting into a long and fruitless email discussion with customer care, but you're not likely to get anywhere. There are plenty of Christians who would find your question offensive, and they are just as likely to hassle customer care themselves. CC aren't likely to reverse a decision if such a reversal will upset even more people.

And yes, that just about sums up Pascal's Wager.

Isn't this a posting of the question? It's obviously skewed for a specific answer. And I think you misread Pascal's wager; if I remember it correctly, he said basically, "what do you have to lose by believing?"

Don't know what to tell you, other than to repost it. Generically "Someone might have considered it offensive, and reported it to a censor bot."

According to Pascal's wager, you should believe in Christianity, specifically. Other faiths - according to the wager - should not be considered.

Post it again. And again.. and again! But not all at the same time as that would be spamming.

And to answer your question - well.. The lesser of a thousand evils, I say. Which one tortures the least is the one I'd go with!

I have no idea what Pascal's wager is. What are the two sides of the wager? Your question does not explain.

And do you really give a rat's bunghoolio if they remove your question. You ticked off someone for sure. Try again.

Click forum in the top right hand corner and then choose appeal a violation. Of course it didn't violate any of the terms. Yahoo doesn't even know it's own terms of service.

Develop very thick skin and stick around, Most of us have so many account violations that we are on our 3rd or 4th account.

Many, many people post improper violations and Yahoo does nothing about it. It can be upsetting at first, but you get used to it.

post the question again.

anyways, do you actually believe in pascal's wager? i think its just something he made up to convince people to believe in god by making them think that if they don't, they loose everything. and if they do, they gain everything. i think people should believe in whatever god they want to believe in and hopefully God is good enough to accept all people, no matter what name they call him, whether its God or Jesus or Allah or whatever. so to answer your question, yes i guess it is the smartest choice to believe in god according to pascal's wager, because you would have nothing to lose. but personally, i think people should believe in whatever they want to believe in.

I have had answers recently from Y/A, I think they are a little busy chasing after the misbehaving ones. When someone reports you I don't think your question is always read by them before they delete it....thats just my guess.

Note that it was likely a report abuse abuse in your response and keep the email you received. If they decide to investigate you should keep a link to the question because they ask you to point it out to them.
They have responded to only one of numerous abuse reports I got when a troll was stalking my previous account.
