Yes this is normal. Some people just have worse teeth than others. I am far more fastidious with my tooth care than my husband is - I brush and floss twice a day and see my dentist every 6 months and I have still had to have 4 root canals (I am in my 30s). He doesn't see a dentist for 5 years and he doesn't even need a filling! My family just have bad teeth while his has good teeth.
Ask your dentist if there is anything more you can be doing to look after your teeth but otherwise you just have to "grin and bear it".

It's normal. My brother-in-law has had teeth issues since his 20's and lost about 50% of them before he his his 30's. He's 37 now and just had a full set of implants put in his mouth.
A former co-worker had to get 2 root canals in his late 20's.
Sometimes we're born with genetically bad teeth.

Anyone who has bad teeth and goes to a dentist regularly has had these problems.
Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't' cover much (maybe $50 out of every $1,000) so I don't go as often as I should. I only get the procedures that must be done, such as root canal and I'm quite a bit older than you.

My husband's had teeth problems since he was young. His parents couldn't afford to take him to the dentist, so eventually his teeth weren't properly taken care of thorughout most of his life. He's 30 now and he's had quite a few root canals done and a few teeth pulled. He also has a bad habit of chewing on plastic and ice, so that's another reason why his teeth aren't in great shape. You aren't the only one! I've learned from him, so I take care of my teeth as much as I can.

First off, why be embarrased by getting your teeth fixed? Better to be proud that you are. Second, you don't sound like you are having any more done than the average person. I grew up in a very poor family, and my teeth suffered because of lack of care. It wasn't till I was in my early 20's that I could afford to have the work done on them. Trust me, I had one heck of a lot more done than you are.
Good luck.

Seems like an obvious question, but do you brush and floss daily?
There are some people who have genetically bad teeth, but for every person with premature dental issues because of that, there are probably 20 more who just don't take care of their teeth.

So you have 'bad teeth' but you are getting them 'fixed' and THAT is what is 'really important' to your health. Believe it or not, our MOUTHS can make us 'better' or make us 'sick' just because we have 'tooth issues' that we are ASHAMED to admit to. BE RPOUD OF YOURSELF for getting your teeth fixed ... and SMILE even if you have a 'space' because I'm betting the dentist will 'fix that space' so your mouth will be 'good as new.'
