As a follow up to the unicorn question asked by Sara. If the bible was written with the backing of an omnipotent god how did that god allow 9 references to the mythical unicorn get past as a real animal? Numb. 23:22, 24:8,,Deut. 33:17,, Jobe 39:9-10,, Psalm 22:21, 29:6, 92:10,, Isaiah 24"7

Isn't it obvious? While God was seeding the earth with giant bones to trick non-believers into thinking the world was more than 6000 years old, He was also hiding all the unicorn bones as another test of your faith.

Woe! Woe, verily unto the last for ye of such little faith!

Um, you do realize that the Bible was NOT written in English, don't you?

You are reading a poor English translation (probably the King James).

The original Hebrew word in the passages that you mention seem to be a reference to the wild ox, as you would find in most modern English translations.

As for the [people] who said that the Bible claims that insects have four legs, you do realize that the ancient Hebrews could count, don't you? The two jumping legs are not counted in the same set as the four crawling legs [2 + 4 = 6, according to first grade math].

And King Solomon did not say that pi was 3. the bowl being referred to was shaped like a Lilly, as the text plainly says, and was not intended to be a perfect circle.

You cannot get Christians to doubt their faith by showing off your ignorance, you know.

===edit2===

Not in denial, just honest. The people who are nit picking at the exact wording of a poor ENGLISH translation of a HEBREW text must realize that faulting the translators' choice of wording does not fault the original author.

This is not an honest objection to the Bible. With all due respect, you must have realized that this cut & paste objection from some website somewhere is based on a gross misrespenstation of the passages that it is based upon if you actually took the time to look up the passages yourself.

Don't believe everything that you read.

The unicorn of the Bible cannot be a wild ox or buffalo or a mythical white horse with a horn. Based on biblical usage and etymology of the original English word, the unicorn of the Bible can only be a rhinoceros, most likely the rhinoceros unicornis, which has a single horn. It is clear that the Bible speaks of this animal as being real and not mythical. It is also clear that this animal has one and only one horn, ruling out the ox and buffalo. The Latin Vulgate is the source of the English word unicorn from unicornium and the Vulgate in several other places translates the same Hebrew word as rinocerotis, from which we get the term rhinoceros.

You are assuming that the unicorn did not exist. The Bible also mentions dragons...and both creatures have been mentioned through out history.

Could it be that the unicorn is simple extinct?

Are you saying a Bible that says insects have 4 legs could be imperfect?

EDIT
Randy (below me) Read your Bible. The passage in Leviticus states that they craw on 4 legs. Now, go watch one of these insects craw and you will see that they craw on all 6.
