I want to know because I want to get into NASCAR, but I want to know if I'll probably need to get laser surgury on my eyes to correct my vision problems, or if I can continue wearing my contacts.

I can't see why not, I wear my contacts when I ride my motorcycle with no problems, eye's do dry out a little but no big deal.
Kyle Petty wears glasses under his helmet so you could always do that as an alternative to contacts.

Yes they can wear contacts. Find out if you have driving skills and talent before you quit your job/school to join the Nascar ranks. You may find out that the only way you'll be driving in circles is mowing your lawn!!! And yes, you can wear contacts to mow the grass.

As a matter of risk reward I would say that it would not be wise to wear contacts in a racecar!

With all of the staydry on a track, what on earth are you going to do if that gets in your eye with contacts on? Contacts open the window for so many problems that I doubt any drivers would wear them during a race.

They don't allow contacts in research labs because chemicals can melt your contacts to your eyes, and at a race track I can only imagine all of the toxic crap that could very easily end up in your eyes.

I would be shocked if Na$car allowed contacts and even more shocked if a driver chose to drive with them. They have the cash go get lasic done and not have to worry about it, its not that expensive!

I put on touch lenses throughout the day and glasses the first thing within the morning and at night time.My eye physician instructed me that dressed in glasses, even a bit of bit,is well for the eyes seeing that they get activity.

I wear contacts and when I drive my Jeep or my Iroc Z with the t-tops off they do tend to dry out fast. But with a helmet on and a cool box hooked up to it you would probably have no problem.

I don't see why they can't wear contact lenses. If Kyle Petty can wear glasses in the car while he is driving, then I sdon't think that it would hurt if they wore contacts in the car

Yeah, they can. I know that Kyle Petty has worn both glasses and contact lenses in the car.

I think it might not be very smart though. It's not like they can take out their contacts in the middle of a race if they're causing them problems.

I don't see why not, because as many people know Kyle Petty wears his glasses while racing.
