Well what from what i have read and heard pastor also means servant. For example Jesus when he washed his disciples feet showed serventhood...many people take a pastor and praise him...many people take a pastor and put them at high position of authority, when actually Jesus, the best pastor of them all, was a servent and a teacher/shepard.

To lead.

It says in the bible to be ever so careful as to not lead ppl away or give false doctrine. To me, pastors have a huge responsibility to make sure what they say is 100% legit with the bible and God.

Pastor comes from a word meaning herdsman and its root means to feed.

A pastor leads a flock by making sure they are fed . He also as a herdsman is responsible for the well being and protection of the flock.

This is completely in line the instructions Yahshua gave to his disciples for the church. Feed his sheep and He who would be great among you be the servant of all. This is the duty of a pastor.

It means shepherd.

Jesus is the Good Shepherd. As much as Protestants want to denounce that priests are in-persona-christi (stunt doubles for Jesus) - that's what Pastor means. A shepherd of Jesus's flock. Standing in for Jesus.

You mean like Pastor Ted Haggard? It seems like any snake oil selling huckster can call himself Pastor or Reverend, or even Reverend Pastor or Pastor Reverend.

Like Brother Reverend Pastor Mike
