NO...

1. Jesus NEVER taught Christians. There were NONE until after his death.
2. Christians were instructed to give according to their income, but NO PRESET PORTION IS ESTABLISHED IN SCRIPTURE.
3. The practice of tithing does pre-date the Mosaic law, so there is some basis to claiming it applies, but NO New Testament writer EVER applied the command or expectation to Christians.
4. Paul makes it quite clear that the Mosaic law itself is no longer in effect - See Ephesians 2:15.

We are supposed to because giving your best back to God shows Him that you do consider yourself a mere keeper of the money, that its success or depletion is in His hands.

Besides, there's nothing but good that can come from tithing for a Christian ... to not tithe is to deny yourself blessings.

Christians that tithe , do so because we believe the Bible, It says everything we have is Gods, so we should want to give 10% of everything He gives us back to Him, To be used in Gods store house to supply the needs of His church& the body of belivers. Its up to each person to do what God leads them to do.

I would say yes............ even though we are not under the law. It actually all belongs to God.

Giving at least the 10% demonstrates that you have surrendered the entire amount. It is an act of worship.

10% is a starting place - by the way.

No, under the grace of God we are not under the law God gave to Israel. Romans 6: 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. Paul write to the church today and he tells us that are not to give grudgingly nor of necessity. 2 Corinthians 9: 6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 2 Corinthians 9: 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
