My dog went to the vet. He is a bichon. They said that he is very very sick. Here is what they said:
-He has white gums which means he is pale
-he lost 2 lbs.
-His stomach is swollen
-He is very thin
-His spine is very defined
What could be wrong? We are waiting for the results. He is 7 years old. Please, i am so scared!

Hun, it could be a lot of things. I would have needed to be in the exam room, took the history into account, viewed the x-rays, and read the blood work results.
Your best bet is to not drive yourself crazy while waiting for a call from your vet with results. I know how difficult it is to wait for results! I have been there!!! It could be something as simple as a parasite or something as complex as a mass. That is why it is best to wait for your vet to talk you through the results. OK? Try to relax!!
Good luck! Give your pup a smooch for me! Let me know the diagnosis... feel free to contact.

Pale gums mean bad circulation, either through lack of oxygen or lack of red bloods cells - anaemia. The 'defined spine' is part of the skinniness and weight loss I think.
I am surprised over how your vets work though - how long are they making you wait for the results? What results anyway - blood tests, xray? Ultrasound?
There are many different types of tumour, both benign and malignant. It's impossible to say on here what type of tumour it would be, and therefore what the prognosis/treatment might be.
Try to be calm! Have you got your doggy with you at the moment, or i he hospitalised? Whatever the results are, ask the vet lots of question so you understand exactly what's happening here.

From what I know....white gums can mean poor circulation/oxygenation. Could be something related to his heart or lungs.
The other symptoms could be the results of many different things.
Best thing to do is wait for the results. No one here is going to be able to diagnose anything before your vet is. Once you have the results, I am sure your vet will let you know what can be done.
He does sound sick though...so make sure you give him much love and attention.
Good luck.

I'm sorry to hear your pup isn't well. I know it is terrifying wondering what the news will be. Unfortunately, I really don't think it's a good time for any of us to second guess the vet, and I'm glad you got him help. All we can do is send our sincere hopes your bichon will be ok, and let you know we understand. It could be as simple as worms or as complex as cancer. We'll be pulling for him here. Good luck.

I would Just wait until you receive the News..
And just hope for the best.
Vets are the professionals so I Wouldn't take too much advice.
I love animals and I hate whenever they are sick, hurt or whatever wrong can happen.
the only thing i wouldn't look forward to is the Vet Bill..which can be a bit "Pricey".
Hope I helped.

when their gums are white it is usually a sign of dehydration. You should get a bottle of pedialyte and see if he'll drink on his own. If not, get a turkey baster and give him a half ounce every few minutes. I'm suprised the vet didn't say anything about him be dehydrated by the white gums. The other symptoms mixed in with the dehydration sound like a stomach or bowel issue, your vet should be able to tell you after the tests, but if the doig isn't hydrated, it could die...
