ICE TEA

6 c. boiling water
3 tea bags
1 c. sugar

Let tea kettle come to a boil. Pour 6 cups of boiling water into a pitcher and add 3 teabags. Cover with a lid and let stand for 5 minutes.
Pour tea into a 64 ounce rinsed-out orange juice glass container. Add one cup of sugar (preferably with a funnel) and stir with a long wooden spoon.

Then fill the remaining glass container up with lukewarm water from tap. Let cool and then refrigerate. Makes 2 quarts.

Lemon optional - 1 tsp. added while still hot.

If you don't want to fire up your stove or microwave and have 3 hours to spare do this.
Get a gallon jar, fill it with water and put in 6 of your favorite tea bags. Hang the little strings that are on most tea bags over the top where you screw on the lid and then screw on the lid.
Put it out in the sun for 2 or 3 hours (however dark you like your tea) then bring it inside. You can pour it in a pitcher, add sugar to taste if you like sweet tea, then add ice and there you go. Environmentally safe iced tea!

I pour water through my coffe maker. I take the strainer off and and spray head off so it just goes through and comes out hot into a pot I only use for tea.

Then put in a tea bag and allow to steep. Put ice into a glass and pour tea over ice. Voila'! You have ice tea.

To make lemonade, use a reamer/juicer made for making lemonade. Slice a lemon in half in the middle, around, not from stem to blossom end. Then press down on the reamer/juicer and twist. You will pour into a pitcher of water. How strong you like your lemonade will depend on how many lemons you use.

Personally I prefer to use frozen lemonade.

Brew STRONG hot tea as usual, allow to cool, pour over ice. Add lemon, mint leaves, honey, milk to taste if desired.

Another method is to put 8 tea bags in a gallon glass jar, fill with water, cover and let stand in the sun for 3-4 hours. Remove the teabags and serve the tea as above.

1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 large lemon
16 to 20 oz. cold water
ice
garnishes (optional): mint sprig, lemon slice, maraschino cherry

Steps
Make sugar syrup: Combine 1 c. sugar and 1 c. water in a saucepan and heat to boiling. Remove from heat, stir to dissolve sugar completely, and allow to cool. (You'll only use a couple of tablespoons per serving, but this is a good item to make ahead and store in the refrigerator, covered. It keeps for weeks.)
2Step TwoFor each serving, combine the juice of half a lemon, 2 tbsp. of the sugar syrup and 8 to 10 oz. cold water in a tall glass.
3Step ThreeAdd ice and any of the garnishes (or all of them, if you're feeling festive). Serve immediately.
Tips & Warnings
One lemon, depending on its size, will yield about 1/4 to 1/3 c. juice.
For a quick microwave version, combine 2 tbsp. sugar and 2 tbsp. water in a tall, microwave-safe glass. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Stir to dissolve completely, cool a bit, then add fresh lemon juice, cold water and ice, if desired.
Be extremely careful when handling hot sugar syrup. It can cause a nasty burn. A child can make the lemonade once the syrup is cooled, but an adult should do this first step.

The best tea I ever had was sun tea. You need a huge glass jar. Fill it with water and dump about 5-6 teabags in it. Sit in outside in the sun and let it sit until the entire jar is brown. Take it inside, add sugar, mix and pour yourself a glass. It is so good. If you don't have a jar. I just take about 3-4 tea bags and put them in a medium pot. Fill the pot half way with water and let it boil on the stove. Once it is boiled, pour it into a pitcher. Add plain water (how much depends on how strong or weak you want the tea to taste). Add sugar, mix and enjoy!

well u can make iced tea by taking a big jug, fill it with cold water and take about 10 tea bags. put them in the jug with the string hanging over the side put the top on and put it in the sun. the sun will actually make the tea. you have to leave it in the sun for about 1/2 a day or so. its sun tea. and its healthier for you than the iced tea you get at the store. then you can put sugar in it if u want. good luck. it will taste great.
