Adderall is a methamphetamine (aka speed). It's clinical indication is for ADD. Doctors nowadays are quick to prescribe it. If you truly have ADD, then it can be very helpful in treatment, but if you don't or are not sure, then I would get another opinion. Patients with true ADD often fail out of school, can't hold a job, etc.
Adderall can have a lot of side effects and it has a high potential for dependence and abuse. The short term effects can involve arrhythmia, hypertension, insomnia, anxiety, etc. The long term effects are less well known (in the past these drugs were only used in kids and only now are they being more widely prescribed) but likely involve premature heart disease (there is 1 study citing this recently) as well as arrhythmias and psychiatric issues (anxiety). I would be VERY careful with this medication. Hopefully you had full psychological testing before the diagnosis was given to you. Have a diagnosis of ADD can affect a lot fo things including getting health insurance, getting a job, etc.

Adderall is a stimulant in adults. In children it has the opposite effect. It is generally used to treat narcolepsy for adults and in children ADHD.

Dependence and abuse are other risk factors for this medication.

It controls the spasms in your bladder I know that from experience. As far as side effects if I were you I would call my pharmacist.

most severe manifestation of chronic intoxication is psychosis, often clinically indistinguishable from schizophrenia.

DRUG INTERACTIONS
Acidifying agents

-Gastrointestinal acidifying agents (guanethidine, reserpine, glutamic acid HCl, ascorbic acid, fruit juices, etc.) lower absorption of amphetamines.

Urinary acidifying agent

-(ammonium chloride, sodium acid phosphate, etc.) increase the concentration of the ionized species of the amphetamine molecule, thereby increasing urinary excretion. Both groups of agents lower blood levels and efficacy of amphetamines.

Adrenergic blocker

-Adrenergic blockers are inhibited by amphetamines.

Alkalinizing agents

-Gastrointestinal alkalinizing agents (sodium bicarbonate, etc.) increase absorption of amphetamines. Co-administration of ADDERALL® and gastrointestinal alkalizing agents, such as antacids, should be avoided. Urinary alkalinizing agents (acetazolamide, some thiazides) increase the concentration of the non-ionized species of the amphetamine molecule, thereby decreasing urinary excretion. Both groups of agents increase blood levels and therefore potentiate the actions of amphetamines.

Antidepressants, tricyclic

-Amphetamines may enhance the activity of tricyclic or sympathomimetic agents; d-amphetamine with desipramine or protriptyline and possibly other tricyclics cause striking and sustained increases in the concentration of d-amphetamine in the brain; cardiovascular effects can be potentiated.
