Back in the 80s, when he had sent the military in to a War in Lebanon and things weren't going well, he said;

"I said I would never turn tail and run, but I never realized the irrationality of Middle Eastern politics."

Ronald Reagan and Ron Paul were also close friends. Ron Paul was one of only 4 members of the House who supported Reagan's bid for the nomination in 1976. Reagan had this to say about Ron Paul;

"Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a strong national defense. As a former Air Force officer, he knows well the needs of our armed forces and he always puts them first. We need to keep him fighting for our country."

Is the GOP leadership absolutely out of touch with Ronald Reagan? Afterall, they condemn Ron Paul and they support gun-grabbing pro-abortion fascist ex-mayors of New York such as Rudy Giuliani. I think this shows that Ron Paul is the true conservative, even though the GOP wishes to deny this.

Reagan was dragged kicking and screaming into Lebanon by the "experts" over at the State Department. There was no peace to keep and he knew it.

I was steaming up and down the coast, 3 miles off the beach, when the Marines were killed.

Ron Paul is definitely in the tradition of Goldwater & Reagan.

But what happened to the Reagan voters?

I'm going to switch from Libertarian to Republican so I can vote for Ron Paul in the primary, but I'll be amazed if he gets over 2% of the vote.

This goes to show you how badly the GOP has been hijacked by Neo Fascist's!! America will only become weaker unless we have a strong candidate like Ron Paul in office. The others will just do what their masters bid them to do.

Yes, he did cut and run.. However, a GOP that is out of touch with Reagan is usually a good thing. I don't know how they screwed this all up so much.

Ron Paul is a psychopath. Hardly the type we need to lead our country. Reagan was bad enough.
