Subject: Too Bad

Message: charlie didn't shove punji sticks up your *** and twist them. or did they? that would explain your ****-for-brains postings.

please die soon, ok?

I was sent this by someone who obviously disagreed with some of my postings. Isn't his wish for me the typical wish that liberals have for all military? Don't liberals wish that all of us would just die so they could save our pensions and health care? If anyone needed it, here is absolute proof that liberals hate those of us who fought for their freedoms

Thanks, Pearl Jam. It's been a long time since I've been called a smart guy. In fact, it was before I went to Nam. I was just so surprised at the vitrol in this message. It's obvious that this poor individual has never been in the military, let alone in combat. I hope he's just young and stupid. It would be a real shame if he were an adult and this stupid

Thanks, Honey Bee. I sure wish you had been around to say that in 1968, when I was lying in the hospital after my wounds in Nam. Saying it now, though, does make me feel like someone still cares

John T, thanks. As I said before, it was not exactly what he said. I've been called every name you can think of. It was the sheer vitrol. Here is a person who hates the United States, our military and everything we stand for. I honestly didn't believe such a creep could exist

Zilla, you have done something that hasn't happened in quite a long time. You brought tears to my eyes. Tomorrow, while everyone else is partying, I will be remembering those who I watched die in Nam. That also brings tears to my eyes

Yeah, that kind of e-mail is over the line. But I doubt it was solely because the poster was liberal.

There are Liberals join the military, Liberals who have served in the military, and liberals who respect veterans, and are thankful for their service.

I couldn't find the post, but didn't we both answer a question recently where someone called the Liberal poster an "idiot?" I thought it was the one about Bush having no shame. If so, then doesn't that show that people on both sides of the issues get carried away?

NOT THAT THAT EXCUSES THE E-MAIL, of course. But if both sides have people who are insulting jerks, then why just be mad at the liberal insulting jerks?

PS. Just for the record, I have many friends who have served in the military, and I'm not hoping any of them will die for a long time.

To: River Rat Vietnam. I am sooo happy to know you even though it is just through Yahoo answers. I love all of our country's Veterans. I agree with you about the Liberals wanting ill-will for the Military. I don't believe that it is just stupidity however. I think they are too caught up in their own agendas to see what is good for the Whole Nation and and it's future generations. My Husband is Military and My father-in-law was in Vietnam for 2+ years. They are both two of the the bravest men I know, as are all who take up the fight. It is a privilege to have all of you Vets in our lives and hearts. You'll never be forgotten, not in my heart. It's too bad these Liberal extremists can't see the price you all paid for them. they are blinded by their hate. But hats off to you my fellow American.

I want to thank you for your service to our country. This person is obviously a loser who has a very sad life. I know it is hard for you not to take it to heart. I've had people on here (mostly liberals, stalk me and call me all kinds of names) people who don't even really know me, just know that I am a conservative and that I am a Vet. I can tell you really think about the questions before you answer them, because your answers are always well thought out. I hope you have a happy and safe 4th of July.

RR: Sorry to hear that you had to suffer the vitriol from the so-called-purveyors of "Tolerance." Remember, "Tolerance" to THEM means convervatives agreeing with the liberals, not the other way around, or (heaven forbid!) actually being open to BOTH sides!

Unfortunately, we must forgive our misguided, $hit for brains little friend, because he is simply an idiot!

Probably a product of the watered down, politically incorrect, hate America first, diversity is more important than history, reading, writing, and arithmetic, Public Schools, he is obviously not smart enough to overcome the slanted indoctrination based rants of his liberal teachers, and has fallen by the wayside.

It is unfortunate that so many have succumbed to the "Big Lie" that the liberals try to pound into their heads, that America is "BAD" because we are now the only superpower (not thinking for a MOMENT what the world would be like if that was true for Stalin's Russia, or Hitler's Germany, or Mao's China, or even Chavez's Venezuela), and that exercise of America's power and influence to spread freedom and democracy is acutally a BAD thing for the world!! These people have obviously landed hard on their HEADS when they fell off of their collective rockers!

It is true for you, my friend, even now, that your service in some ways will never end, even though you may have retired from the military. As one that that respects and values all that you and those like you have given for your country, and our way of life, I must tell you (which I am sure that you already know): that the feeble minded that just do NOT appreciate all that you have given MUST be protected, just as much as those that do TRULY respect your service and your sacrifice, even though in their shriveled little minds they somehow think for some unimaginable reason, that it would be better if the forces of freedom acutally LOST a war on occasion!!! They are the most short sighted of all, and do not for a MOMENT think of what the consequences of what they "wish" for actually would mean in their pathetic little lives!

So, the burden that we must all carry, and most especially those of your ilk, that have served proudly and valiantly for the forces of freedom and democracy, is that we must continually endure the bleats of the idiot sheep, those that truly do NOT understand the blessings that those that have willingly fought and died for freedom have provided for them, and simply ignore them, as the words of the fool are of no consequence.

Or perhaps simply respond with a "you're welcome."

And know that those of us that really DO "get it" are thankful and appreciative of your service, have great respect for all that you have done, all that you were willing to risk, and all that you must endure, even now, from the likes of them.

On this day before Indepence Day, I would like to say to you:

Thank you for your service sir, and Godspeed.

(Never mind what the idiots say. They will NEVER get it!)

I recall a couple of your responses, don't recall you being offensive.

I stick to the name of the 1976 Joe Walsh Album.
"You can't argue with a sick mind"

I was a year young for Viet Nam. I did hook up with a woman from Trah Vihn Province in 2000 for 6 years. Dirt /water you are likely familiar with. Her brother in law was career ARVN. He went BALLISTIC during the 2004 election cycle. The local Vietnamese papers were slamming John Kerry. A lot of what he did was unknown to them and new info. The short version was ALL 8 that grew up in the middle of the conflict said he was a lying SOB. They wanted to know who was killed which Villls had been burned etc. I'm sure that stuff happened. But when I am getting info from a guy that fought the war for 20 years I give it a lot more credibility. The Major wanted to Coq off you know what from the Sen. mid region. They flooded me with info. It was much more than I learned from my cousins that were there.

Hang in there!

That guy sounds like an idiot. It's such a pain in the **** to think that we put our lives on the line for THAT isn't it? I heard your account got suspended, that's a bunch of BS. Did you have trouble logging in and seeing your profile before hand? I'm experiancing that right now, I have this weird feeling that my account is about to have the same thing happen to it.

God Bless you and Happy Independance Day River Rat!

From what I've read of your postings, you're a smart guy. Liberals tend to be quite violent and extremist. People on the left tend to be more violent, spiritually sick, and extremist than the conservatives they hate so much. They just get too caught up in their vitriol. I was a liberal once, I remember what it was like to think I was right about everything and that conservatives were evil. They're just misinformed. However, that kind of behavior is inexcusable.

This message was obviously posted by an ignorant individual. It is people like that, who remind me that I fought (first gulf war) to defend their freedom of speech.
Take heart, the liberals have yet to attack the right to free speech, they are too busy with gun control, health care, and raising taxes so they can have pay increases.

I'd categorize that more as "troll" than "liberal". I'm conservative, but even I understand the liberals can have an ounce or two of civility.

But, I can relate....I joined up in '81, and went through JFK to my first permanent party in Germany....got called a "baby-killer" by some freak. WTF? I hadn't even been in the army 6 months yet, wasn't old enough for Vietnam, and never killed anyone (much less a baby) in my life.

Some people just hate. I'll grant you that there's more liberals than conservatives in that group, but it's not political ideology that's causing them to vent, it's just plain old stupidity.
