I don't think there is anything wrong with gay people. No one should be denied Gods love. I honestly don't understand what is so sinful in finding love in the same sex. I don't think anyone can truly defend their point on the fact that homosexuality is a sin. Oh they can say " It's a sin because the Bible says so" But honestly how old is the Bible? And How many times has it been translated? And who has had it translated? Law makers. If you found an ancient text stating things that you didn't agree with and you had the diplomatic power to leave these things out so that the rest of the world wouldn't know about it would you? I know some "christians" who would. It all comes down to Zenophobia. the fear of what is construed as strange and different.

To everyone: Should this become a drinking question?
Look, we don't make the laws. We just follow them. We don't hate homosexuals...or at least we shouldn't.
My opinion is not a popular one, but you asked this of Christians. So I'm going to answer, as a Christian.
We are ALL born with sinful desires. Ever seen a two year old throw a temper tantrum? Yeah, we inherited that nature.
I don't believe that being gay is a sin. However, ANY sex outside of marriage IS a sin. That would include adultery, fornication, and yes, homosexuality. Period.
Edit: And for the record, I DO believe that homosexuals are born that way. However, I CHOSE to be straight about five years ago. Up until that time, I was bisexual. Actually, I'm STILL bisexual, I just CHOOSE not to act on it.

They are not born that way. There is no scientific proof of that nor is it approved of by God. If God does not approve of homosexuality, he certainly would not create someone in that sinful condition. Mankind was created with a free will and the ability to CHOOSE to sin.
In his book, Overcoming Homosexuality, Dr. Robert Kronemeyer says, "From my 25 years experience as a clinical psychologist, I firmly believe that homosexuality is a learned response to early painful experiences and that it can be unlearned."
Even homosexuals who are honest about their behavior have admitted they were not born gay. John Dececco, editor of The Journal Of Homosexuality, says homosexuality is a "behavior, not a condition" and that "the idea that people are born into one type of sexual behavior is entirely foolish." ["A Biological Theory For Sexual Preference," USA Today, (March 1, 1989), p. 40]
Bill Flatt, Ed. D. , says, "Conditioning is the predominant cause of homosexuality: conditioning by parents, siblings, by dating and other experiences. Genetics alone is never the cause. Genetic studies of homosexual and heterosexual groups cannot accurately distinguish between the two groups." [Counseling Homosexuals, (Jonesboro: National Christian Press, 1985) p. 65]

lemme hit up these Q's 1 @ a time.
1. It's not that there's n/ething 'wrong' w/ gay ppl.,
it's that when u live a Godly life we are training ourselves by God's understanding /reasoning.
And homosexuality is wrong/ bad is God's eyes; so it would follow that this is what Christians KNOW to be right.
2. (b-4 I answer; U said "if" keep this in mind, o.k.)
God did NOT make them this way and
they are NOT born this way.
3. It's wrong.....
(a) b-cuz it is against what is good for the human family,
(b) b-cuz God says so,
(c) It's wrong b-cuz it is an abomination against God,
our Creator. We were NOT created for this purpose.
4. YES, ANYONE Can Change,
'IF' YOU want to;
'IF' YOU put forth the effort.
I DID!!!
I was bi-sexual, and I stopped.
I wasn't born that way & God Didn't make me (that way) do it.
If it wasn't against God's will...I'd still be doing women.
My husband wants me to continue; And I REFUSE!

People weren't born Gay.Many people are gay from the things that have happened to them in life such as being molested or rapped. I'm a Christian and we are not supposed to be so judgmental because all have sin and fallen short. And no sin is worse than the other. We are supposed to pray and leave the judging God.

God did NOT make people gay. That is a lifesytle that THEY choose for themselves! While I do agree that they may have "tendencies" to have relationships with those of the same sex..it is a SIN & a perversion against God. It is something they CHOOSE to do! As it is with ANY type of sinful lust.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

the act is a sin, is in the Bible.
But because we all sin, we cannot judge them. As a Catholic/Christian I was taughted to reject the sin and embrace the sinner.
Read the Gospels and ask, when jesus got angry, who did he get angry at. Jesus said he did not come to condem the world but he came so that the world could be saved through Him, and then he went and hung out with SINNERS, because only the sick need a Doctor.

Skippy like a lot of people who do not know God you make an error. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. We are created with a sin nature and thus are made this way...does not make us righteous and is the reason Christ came to the world.

FYI, I am gay and Christian.
God made people gay, just as he made them blonde, brown-eyed, etc...
However, fundamentalists insist on interpreting the Bible literally...except for those verses that apply to them. Anyway, in so doing, they believe homosexuality to be a sin. Eventhough, Jesus never directly addresses the sin...nor was the word homosexual even part of the vernacular until 1865...way after the Bible was written.
We are born gay...most straight people cannot understand that.

God doesnt make ppl gay.....babies are born into a sinful world and the gay lifestyle is a part of that sinful world.....now i dont believe that gay ppl are born like that but i KNOW for sure that God doesnt make them like that because God destroyed a whole city for their homosexual ways and their immorality (if they were gay or straight it didnt matter)....God loves the homosexual; God loves the sinner.....but God doesnt create a sinner, he creates a person; and that person is born into the sinful world that was affected by adams disobedience......u followin me?
