This may sound bad but think of what you would say to him if you only had 10 minutes left with him. What would you want him to know if you never saw him again?

Choose someplace quiet & write, from your heart.
Then go do something else, but save all that writing.
When you come back to it, to compose your vow, there will be some gems among that writing.
Be careful your wording, but sound like you.
Make it no more than 90 seconds; otherwise people think you just like to hear yourself talk.
If you are having a small informal wedding then you can get a bit more intimate with your vow. But if you are inviting your boss's daughter's friend, I doubt you want to share too much intimacy with them.
Talk to your fiance about the intimate level of your vows. Are you repeating the same one? Make sure that you understand what it is you're trying to accomplish. You don't want one to be philosophical & the other to sound like a Hallmark card.

The Best Thing To Do Would Be To Not Write Anything At All When You Get There And Its Time For you To Say Your Vows.. Look Into His Eyes And Speak Directly To Him Act Like Its Just You And him In The Room And Talk To Him And Tell Him From Your Heart What He Means To You How He Makes You Feel And What You Feel For Him...

Honestly I had the same problem. I started to write my vows then changed my mind because I didn't know how to start. So instead we are having the officiant read the vows and I wrote him a letter (which I thought was much easier) and I am going to read it to him aloud at the reception. I hope it turns out! Good luck!!

My advice is to just sit down and try your best. If you can't do it, then use traditional vows. Better to use someone else's vows than to sound like a fool in front of everybody. Have you tried sitting down and doing this with your future spouse? Maybe you can write them together.

Google "wedding vows" or "custom wedding vows". See what other people have done, it might give you a starting point. I had my vows written by a good friend of mine, who is a great writer. Do you have a friend who can help you out? Different people are good in different things; there's nothing wrong with seeking help.

Write down how you truly feel, and if you don't like the way it sounds, have someone help you out...maybe a family member, or a friend who's good at writing, or something like that. I love the idea of writing my vows, and I'll probably end up doing it too. Good luck and congrats!!!!

I can't tell you what to write, exactly. But the most important thing to remember is that your vows need to be VOWS. That means they are actual promises (I will do this, I won't do that) and not just a laundry list of why you love him.

I was wondering this too. I think I am going to use a traditional vow and make it my own. I don't want to sound cheezy, and I probably would start crying and not be able to finish anything else haha

I would keep it very short and to the point. Even the simplest things don't sound cliché when it's said with feeling, and you'll be overwhelmed with emotion at your wedding so simple will really pack a lot of punch. Good luck!
