I've heard your not supposed to because it can mess up the Tv picture, but I've seen some people do it and their Tv seems fine. Just wondering what to do.

Yes, you can. It used to be that Plasma TV's were prone to "burn-in" if you played the same games for too long, but newer models have largely eliminated this. If you have an LCD HDTV, no problem at all- you can't cause burn in. Gaming in HD is awesome, go for it!

The problem you're worried about is image burn-in. It used to be rather common, but technology has advanced to greatly reduce this to the point where it's very rare. In fact, systems such as the PS3 and 360 natively are required to output in at least 720p--an HD standard. The problem occurs when a static image stays on the same location on the screen for a long time, causing that image to burn into that portion of the screen. If you're really worried about it, just turn off your TV every hour or so for a little bit, or change the channel real quick, but it's largely unnecessary with any current HDTV.

However you need to be careful because of lag, often caused by upscaling. If you are playing consoles with the native resolution below an HD standard (basically any console that's not the PS3 or 360), the picture needs to be upscaled to the proper resolution, and lag is almost unavoidable. Playing a game in 480p (running a GameCube game in progressive scan, for example) will help minimize lag as well. Many HDTVs now have a "game" option that will minimize the lag, so you might want to look for one with that. The problem is often very minor, but varies greatly depending on the TV (also, DLP TVs seem to experience the most lag), and it will affect you mostly in games where perfect timing is crucial, such as rhythm games (think DDR).

Plasma HD TVs have not got long existence. you could play xbox 360 on plasma. this is think to have so plenty greater constructive colour and pictures. yet you could spend much less on a liquid crystal exhibit and you fairly won't be able to tell too plenty on the image high quality. stable success.

Yes you can play video games on your HDTV. There is a warning about static images being burnt in on plasma sets if they are left on the screen for too long.

yes, but, if you leave it on too long, it can burn into the screen. *sigh* that happened to me once.
