Does digital cable (TV) use the same coax cable as analog?

Yes, the Coax cable is the same, it is just a difference in how the signal is sent. Digital cable will require a set top box whereas analog it is optional if you have a cable ready tv.

It depends. Analog cable used to use RG59 but signal loss is smaller with RG6 so most new installations use RG6 instead. So although you may have a coax cable, if it is old its proabably RG59 and the cable company will want to switch you to RG6.

Yes it does....

But it uses a "different" cable box to decode the Digital TV signals......
