I recommend a small breed for a condo, since all those that I saw are small apartment sized places. I have a pug, He is a great dog, although they are VERY hyper as puppies! He requires a nice play session then calms down and lays under your feet. They are great companion dogs, they want nothing more than to be ON you all the time! Mack (my pug) seems to be very smart and research on the breed showed they are easily trained, although some may be hard to housebreak (although most small breeds are) They are an inside only breed, they don't do well in outside temps over 75 since they cant release heat like most by panting.
anyway, that's the reason I think you should get a pug (not that you asked for WHY, just a recommendation!)

The Golden Retriever is an amazing breed, they are medium sized and live up to 14 years. Golden's love being with everyone and are easily trained. They are the 4th most intelligent dog and popular as family dogs and service dogs since they are so devoted. Training is a must (but it should be that way with any dog). I own 2 Golden's and there's never a dull day, they are playful and gentle with everyone they meet. A dog this size can live in a small condo but ample park space to run in is necessary and long walk routes.
If you get a Golden, try to find one from a reputable breeder so you know the lines are pure and they aren't any defects (true with any breed). I have never met someone who regretted having a Golden Retriever. Good luck.

Boxer and would be some thing with common erect ears. I might say a variety of shepard or terrier. Kate do not be assuming its a boxer/pit its on account that of humans such as you that I have disorders with my boxer combine who appears very similar to this. However recall its a combination so it may be extra then 2 breeds. The simplest technique to realize for definite is a genetic scan.

Dogs and condos are not a good mix. BUT if you insist on getting one, make it a lap dog like a Papillion or Chihuahua.
Any dog will yelp and get into trouble if left alone for too long so I suggest getting a wire crate to keep it in to be safe and out of trouble.
Make sure the neighbors are okay with you having a dog...they are the ones who may have to listen to it while you are at work.
P.S. (warning) DO NOT get any kind of "terrier"...they are very active dogs with lots of nervous energy that need lots of space to run around in.

Shetland Sheepdog (Sheltie). Looks like a minature Collie. Ours is 15 years old and doing great. Very smart, nice small dog to have around the house, very pretty, and easy to train, and doesn't shed a lot. Our dog is at home alone while we work all day, but we take her for a walk every day and get lots of compliments.

A Gloden Retriver is a great dog to have if you want a loveing companion. I have a golden and he is such a good listener and he learned s the tricks: sit, stay, down, pow(Play dead),good boy, shake and so on in a matter of 2-3 months and we got him as a puppy I love my golden and i think that is the wat to go and if you have a hyper and active lifestyle you should go for the Australlian Sheperd. They are alyawy going and super smart.

Rat Terrier, they are very loyal, love to play, I taught mine sit, speak, ring the bell to go outside and...well you know, lay down, play dead, roll over, stand, and spin around. They are lap dogs and can weigh 20-28 pounds. They are short haired. ( They do shed little hairs a lot.)

I think you should get a Boston Terrier. They are good dogs and you don't have to do a lot with them.

Doberman..........ours is the best...........they look scary becaue of movies and such portraying them as guard dogs but ours is the sweetest, smartest EVER! He can shake, sit, lay down, bring my boyfriend his socks, and when we tell him to find his ball, he finds it, he plays hide and seek, and he hunts birds..........VERY SMART BREED!!!
