Medical care is NOT free in canada. They pay for it with extreemly high taxes. I was born in Canada and now live in the states. I have had both Canadian and USA healthcare. I can assure you that the medical care we have here is much much better.

To the people that are dissing the socialist medical care, you people are idiots.

America is actually planning to provide a government sponsored health care system, much like in the socialist party.

The reason they don't have it here in America yet is because America wants as little government intervention as possible, but in Canada, they trust the government.

It's stupid and we need a government healthcare system. There are thousands of people without healthcare because they cannot afford it, but they NEED it.

So what if you pay higher taxes? It works out better in the end.
The richer will be a little poorer but the poor won't be dying.

One word GOVERNMENT. I believe in the late forties(date could be wrong) a politician had a dream of free health care for all Canadians. Douglas fought and finally the law was passed. I salute him! It has been a god send for all Canadians. I know it's not a perfect system but I have no complaint. I have always received care for some very serious problems with no cost to me. I am thankful to be a Canadian!

By the way the health care if just as good, if not better, in Canada as in the US. We believe everyone is entitled to the same health care and not just the rich. And we don't ship the sick to little county hospitals if they don't have the money to pay for their health.

It's not free. It's paid for with taxes, which are much higher than in the US.

Nothing is free.

Because we are the next thing to a socialist goverment. Where the wealth is spread out a little better. We feel that everyone is entitled to healthcare. You american capitalist fat cats only care about yourselves and not the well being of your country.

Taxes are higher. But they are higher for the rich and the poor. Instead of just the poor.
