Carpooling is shared use of a car, in particular for commuting to work, often by people who each have a car but travel together to save costs. There are sometimes special facilities for carpoolers, including high occupancy vehicle lanes specifically for cars with multiple riders.

When a bunch of people carpool, that means that a bunch of people all go together someplace in the same car.

Well lets say that you work at this place and you know that your co worker drivers to work. Well you go pick him up and take him to work and next week he drives you yo work. The more people you have in your car the better and you will all save on gas by switching off. One week you drive then he drives then the other guy and so on.
Car pooling is a good way to get all of you to work.

1) several people ride in one car, as opposed to each person driving alone. The idea is to save gas, produce less emissions and have less cars on the road.
2) a pool installed in your car, so you can take a dip, when it's hot (i'll not be surprised, if you believe it...)
