Oooh beef jerky...have you tried the spicy jalapeno kind...wow that stuff is awesome?! OK...I guess right now I'm craving Ben & Jerry's Karamel Sutra! Cold & Yummy! ;o)

I am originally from Singapore where the cuisine is such a great variety and I try to make some myself but they are not the same.
Right now, I crave 4 favorites. Of course there are more that I crave but for now these four:
1) Satay. This is a Malay dish. It is skewered meat slices (chicken, beef,beef liver) and they are roasted over a charcoal grill. The meats also have been marinated in spices and sugar so it's tasty. The seller bastes the meat in coconut oil as they are being roasted.
You eat them with rice steamed in cleaned special fragrant leaves (pandan? I think they are called), raw, sliced onions and cucumbers (also raw and sliced) and all these and the meat kebabs you dip into a sweet spicy peanut sauce. Yum!
2) "Mee Rochore": yellow noodles are fried with egg, slices of squid and shrimp. Tasty! (Chinese dish)
3) "Char Kuay teow" : flat rice noodles are fried with egg, sometimes shrimp are added, bean sprouts and flavored with a sweet thick black sauce and hot chili sauce. Yummy!
This is a Chinese dish also.
4) An Indian Dish: "Nasi Bryani". This is a spicy flavored rice cooked with cashews and raisins in it. The chicken or beef or mutton that comes with your order, are cooked also Indian style- spicy! Oh, now I am feeling really hungry and my mouth is watering.
