8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

That number is real. It's not the mark, just the number (but I bet it's in the mark somewhere; it has something to do with it, anyway, since it's in the Bible). I believe what the Bible says, including that part about burning forever in hell if you receive the mark (a.k.a. microchip). Reliable sources, huh? Every sort of news thingy (I'm not a news peraon, though I try to keep up with the times) is controlled by the government; people publish or don't publish things based on what the government will do if they do publish (or don't). The most logical thing to do is not accept the mark (microchip). Think about it! The government could track where you are, what you do, what you think - the right to privacy will be more nonexistent than ever. Would you really want that?

True, the Bible predicts a "mark" to be placed on an individuals hand or forehead. Could be some future chip, or could be something else, like a barcode tattoo. Other things to look for is a possible one-world government system that will be ruled by the Anti-christ. As for Babylon, that might be America's fall, maybe economically, or some other interpretation. Many people interpret the Bible different ways, so keep on studying and we'll see what happens.

the bible is a book of prophecy, so being able to conclude that we are living in the last days or that prophecy (such as the fall of Babylon the Great) is a great accomplishment. i strongly encourage you to contact www.watchtower.org to request a copy of "What Does the Bible Really Teach?" at no charge.
The Bible uses beasts as symbols of human rulership.
First, because of the beastly record of bloodshed that governments have accrued over the centuries. “War is one of the constants of history,” wrote historians Will and Ariel Durant, “and has not diminished with civilization or democracy.” How true that “man has dominated man to his injury”! (Ecclesiastes 8:9) The second reason is that “the dragon [Satan] gave to the beast its power and its throne and great authority.” (Revelation 12:9; 13:2) Accordingly, human rulership is a product of the Devil, thus reflecting his beastly, dragonlike disposition.—John 8:44; Ephesians 6:12.
This does not mean, however, that every human ruler is a direct tool of Satan. Indeed, in one sense, human governments serve as “God’s minister,” giving structure to human society, without which chaos would rule. And some leaders have protected fundamental human rights, including the right to engage in true worship—something that Satan does not want. (Romans 13:3, 4; Ezra 7:11-27; Acts 13:7) Still, because of the Devil’s influence, no human or human institution has ever been able to bring lasting peace and security to the people.—John 12:31.

The article is a fact. It is fiction that the RFID chip IS the mark of the beast.
There is not a person in this world that has not ALREADY received the “mark of the beast” in his or her “right hand”—not one! The number '666' refers to nothing more or less than MONEY!
It is impossible to live in this world without being affected in some way by commercialism, money, or the economic structures set up by the societies of the earth.
Jewish custom taught that what one does with one’s “right hand” is a reflection of the actions one makes in his daily life. What one thinks and focuses upon, is represented by a “mark” in the “forehead.” The greatest portion of our waking hours are spent in pursuit (“mark in right hand”) of the lifestyle (“the image of the beast”) we have imagined in our minds (“mark in their foreheads”) for our families and ourselves.
Those who have the mark, or “seal of the Father in their forehead” think of others and how their actions affect the least among us, trying in every way possible to do unto others what they would want done unto them.
This comes from a book I read. It explains what ALL of Revelation means. You can read it for free from the site below:

Did you know that the earliest manuscripts available use 616, not 666?
This is because prior to the translation to Greek, the title for Emperor Nero in the prior language was numerologically equivalent to 616.
When the documents were translated to the Greek, since the translators were familiar with the numerology involved, they updated the text to say 666, because in Greek, that was the new numerological equivalent for the same title.
Revelations was fulfilled 1st/2nd Century AD dude. Preterists got this one right.
