My husband gets sirloin steak every week. I cook it on the George Foreman Grill for 3 to 4 minutes....any longer & it's as tough as an old boot. Done this way it is cooked all the way through but still juicy inside....Yum!

Baking steak makes it tougher and easily overcooked- the perfect steak is a combination of oven grilling and roasting: You need cast iron, heat, and a really good oven mitt to make the perfect steak- but this really is perfect. Preheat oven to 500 degrees F (a very hot oven produces a juicy interior). Place cast-iron skillet in oven. When oven reaches 500 degrees temperature, remove pan from oven and place on range over high heat (the pan and the handle will be extremely hot - be careful). Immediately place steaks in the middle of hot, dry pan (if cooking more than one piece of meat, add the pieces carefully so that they are not touching each other). Cook 1 to 2 minutes without moving; turn with tongs and cook another 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat and put the cast iron skillet with the steaks in it into the oven. Cook an additional 3 to 5 minutes, depending on thickness of steaks and degree of doneness you like. When the steaks are crusty-charred and done to your liking, remove from the pan, cover loosely with aluminum foil and let rest 5-10 minutes before serving. During this time the meat continues to cook (meat temperature will rise 5 to 10 degrees after it is removed from the oven) and the juices redistribute

Use high heat, either grilling it or frying it in butter. To get a medium rare temperature, cook it until you get a nice dark brown color. Don't be afraid to char it over the fire. Don't let the meat get hard, or else it will be well done. Cooking time depends on the thickness of the steak.

After cooking, let the meat rest for 20 minutes to 30 minutes. This is critical. If you cut your steak right of the fire, it will bleed juices and go dry. Let it rest and the meat will retain its juices.

thats a very good choice of steak. personally, thats what i have and im a butcher! nice and tender with a flavour to match. your best way to do is under the grill on a medium heat.length of time depends on if u like it pink in the middle or not. mines normally under for 30 mins, a little pink and damn tasty! peppercorn sauce and mushrooms go very well, if ur not sure, try it with a blue cheese like stilton, get a good size lump, melt in the microwave {in a bowl of course} and pour over the steak when serving. hope you enjoy. oh and please keep it natural when cooking, dont and salt and pepper to it. its got enough flavour as it is.

Heat a cast iron skillet to very hot. Drizzle one side of steak with a little olive oil, salt and pepper. Put in pan seasoned side down (it should really sizzle). Season other side of steak with olive oil, salt and pepper.
Cook on each side about 3-4 minutes for med. rare.
Don't move the steak around while it is in the pan because you want that nice meat crust. Remove from pan with tongs and let rest for about 5 minutes before cutting.
Serve alone or with sauce.

Grill it. Rub it down with salt & pepper. Depending on the thickness, usually 4-5 minutes per side should be medium rare. Warm your peppercorn sauce and saute the mushrooms.

grilling it under a nice steady heat
but first flatten it with a meat tenderiser
[wooden mallet with notches]and season both sides
with salt and black pepper
while you are doing that
turn the grill on
so when you place the steak on the
grill rack it will sizzle straight away
tip:cooking steak too fast
makes it go tough ,also if you overcook steak
under a moderate heat it will not toughen the meat

Try mixing balsamic vinegar, ketchup and Worcester sauce. Let it marinade for a while. Then shove it under the grill, remember to turn.
