Well, clotheswise, very popular stores among girls around that age, are stores such as Abercrombie and Fitch or Hollister. Juicy Courture by Neiman Marcus is also highly popular, but tends to be very expensive.
If your daughter is more into books, I would go with a Barnes and Noble gift card, because not only do they have books, these have cds and dvds as well.

Barnes and Noble or gift card to a CD store. iTunes also sells gift cards as well which is much cheaper than going to buy CDs. Plus she can pick out the songs she likes from different albums.

I'm not sure where you live but do you have a Strawberries or FYE? Any music store would be great. Also department stores like Walmart or Target offer a wide variety of music, books, and cute cheap accessories preteens would like as well.

In my opion I think all or the girls I know would like a gift card to claires of limited too. I think that just because that's what I like and all my friends! Hope this helps.
