You'll be running errands, cleaning up messes, and generally doing the unspecialized work that frees up nurses and doctors to do what they need to.

They will ask why you want to work there. Practice an answer about how much you like the medical field, how you enjoy helping people, how much you admire their hospital, and how much you look forward to working there.

They will ask if you mind doing unpleasant work. Of course the right answer is no, not at all. If you can give examples of tasks you've done at home or elsewhere, from cleaning out the garage or attic to washing the dog, that will help.

They will ask what special skills you bring to the job. You'll want to mention how much you enjoy working with all kinds of people, how much you like to be helpful, how you have lots of energy, are always polite, and comfortable with stressful situations.

They may ask you to describe a stressful situation and how you handled it. Think of one that makes you look good.

They may ask how you handle disagreements with a colleague or supervisor. Answer in a way that shows how pleasant and cooperative you are.

They will probably ask if you have any questions. Find out as much as you can about the hospital and ask questions that show your interest, such as "When will the new cancer wing open? How are you dealing with the shortage of nurses?" as well as questions that show you have thought about the job, such as "What have people who have done well in this position in the past had in common? What would I most need to learn to do well in this position?"

Good luck to you.

They will ask about any experience you have and also what kind of work you are prepared to do. At 16 you will probably be given very limited duties, such as bedpans, delivering meals, things like that. Be open to any job, regardless of what it is. What you want right now is experience; something you can put on your next job application. They will also ask about the hours you are willing to work, so if you have a car you can drive, try to be flexible. They will appreciate it and remember who comes in when called to cover for someone else. Otherwise, just take a deep breath, and be yourself. Good luck!

First, good luck with the interview. I conduct interviews in my current role, so try learn a bit about the place your going to work, google them, it always impresses them to know your interested in what they do. It also shows your interested in working for them.

They might ask you about the hours your available to work (is this a summer job until you go back to school?) So be honest and let them know.

Try to bring up examples of where you assisted others in the past, even if just when you helped out in the local youth centre, or some extra curricular activities in school. this shows a willingness to help and past experiences or taking on responsibility. So try think of some examples and have them ready for the interviewer.

Good luck, they shouldn't be too hard on you, given its your first interview.
