I am thinking about entering one of the world's oldest professions, and I need your advice!

Just wanted to add some details - I would be working at a club that was 18 and over (so that means NO alchohol on the premises). I don't want to do this forever, it is just to have a little fun while making lots of money. The club I would be working at is in a VERY nice part of town, and would be catering to that kind of clientle.

Do those details change your answer?

Pros: Relatively easy money and tips.

Cons: You may look out on the crowd one days and see someone you know; stripping can lead to other things like drug abuse and prostitution; you might get addicted to the money and can't get out of the profession until forced out; your youth and looks slip away, especially if you work at night; you work on the seedy side of town; you would be working at some aspect of the sex trade and you would be always wondering if that great secret would be found out in the future; and lastly, you might very well be doing something against your core values that might cause you severe stress.

My daughter just quit for many good reasons. #1 She had to be drinking heavily to get up there and that made her into an alcoholic which she has stopped now. #2 The tips are not that great. Bartenders and drink servers make that much if they are good and never have to take their clothes off. #3 It's not as easy as it looks. Do you want water on the knees? How about ribs popping out from sliding down the pole? I promise you that when she got home many night she was crying in pain. How about herpies from the pole? Do you want that? Do you want a Mexican kissing you on the butt when you don't know they are coming? OH HUH UUU.She met a nice guy who got her away from it. There is always the drugs too. That goes along with it. Don't think it don't. It really is not safe. The guards escourt you to your car but do they follow you home to make sure some freak don't follow you? There are other things to do. Use your mind, Not your body.

The plus is that you can make a lot of money very quickly.

The minuses are that it will follow you for the rest of your life. You are young and pretty for a fairly short time and it is doubtful that you will make enough to last you forever. Maybe someday you will want to marry and have kids. How many classy people are willing to marry someone with that background.

I actually have a friend who is a successful professional. He met a great lady who seemed to be everything he wanted. Then he found out she had been a stripper. The romance was over. He was afraid that one of clients would recognize her for what she had been.

You want to enter one of the world's oldest professions? What's stripping got to do with farming?

Stripping is not one of the world's oldest professions, prostitution is.
