Yeah stick it with a fork first though or else it will explode.

Put it in for like 4 minutes- unless your microwave has a potato button. You can check if it is done, by sticking it with a fork, if the fork goes in and comes out easily then it is done, if not then it needs more time.

I have a very old microwave but it still works. The only thing you would have to remember is to poke holes with a fork all over the potato and then on high power I do 5 min on each side and then it should be done. What I have discovered, the hard way, is that if you don't poke the holes in it, the potato does explode and you will have a mess. This procedure also works with yams and sweet potatoes.

Probably about 7-8 minutes, depending on the microwave. You can tell if a baked potato is done by poking it with a fork, and if the fork slides in/out easily, and the potato is firm to the touch, but not hard, it is done. Microwaves vary a lot, so maybe like microwave it for 4 minutes, poke it with a fork, and guestimate how much longer it needs.

Yes! You can!
Make sure to poke holes in the potato with the end of a knife or a fork or it will explode!
The bigger the potato, the longer you need to cook it!
Try cooking it on high for about 3 minutes then check to see how it's doing. Keep adding more time until it is just right.
The time depends also on how good your microwave works!
If you want to cook more than one potato, it will take longer.

Yes you can.

Poke the entire potato with a fork. Start with 8-10 minutes in the microwave.

Time will vary depending on the size of the potato and microwave power.

Yes Yes and Yes!!! That is the only way I make a baked potato. They turn out wonderfully. Poke some holes in it with a fork first and wet it down. Wrap it up in a damp dish towel and put it on for about 8 minutes. Check it periodically. It may take more or less time depending on the size of the potato and your microwave.

ENJOIY!!!

I just did this last night... first of all, don't forget to punch some holes using a table fork on both sides of the potato. You should put it in for about 7 minutes on each side - or use your microwave's potato setting.

If you have a newer microwave it should have a baked potato button. Put it in and press the button then start. If not try like 4 minutes, depending on how big it is it may need more time.

I know that you have to punch holes in it or it will blow up. I think you'd have to add water to the bowl you're cooking it in because the microwave insists on liquid or you'll harm the microwave. Why not cut it in two and test it after maybe 8 minutes. You can put the butter or sour cream on it "after" the potato is on your table.

I usually cut up potatoes and boil them on the stovetop for about 15 minutes. You can surely do it that way too, pour off the water and then add your butter, sour cream, cheese, salt and pepper after the potato is on your table.

Yes. There are several ways, but you could try just washing the potato, sticking it a couple of times with a fork, and putting it on high. Try it for six minutes and then use a fork to see if it is tender. If it still feels too hard, put it for another three minutes.

Good luck!
