Yes I understand that but it is part of thier job, they can't just beat people because they are rude to them , that would be abuse of their power.

I understand your question. no he was not beating the person. officers utilize a force continuum. you first give verbal, then lay hands. He had more then one suspect, six I believe. Lets look at what one responder said "so what if they were skateboarding". the damage a skateboard does is not minor. they break concrete, the damage railings, paint jobs, planters, etc. not look at it this way, now the city has to pay someone to fix the broken items, and they have to pay for the materials. that's your tax monies that could have been spent on something else, now being spent because they were just skateboarding. Often they"tag" spray paint their logos, put up stickers, etc. all causing expenditures that could have been used somewhere else.

He wasn't beating anyone. He was arresting them and telling them to "roll over" and "keep your hands behind your back."
Next, they ran from the arresting cop. How stupid is that? HE got one person in a "choke - hold," HOLD being the operational word. The person was not choked... only held in such a way that by choosing to remain still (and stop resisting) they would NOT choke.... kind of like a choker collar for a dog. It doesn't produce a choking sensation, unless the dog resists the owner's leading.
So, no, this was very clearly not a Rodney King beating... just disrespectful skateboarders breaking the law and whining about getting caught.

I've seen the video. There was a post about it already. Sorry but I think he was doing his job and trying to enforce an ordinance that the city put in place. He asked them to disperse and they did not. He attempted to handcuff the person for not obeying the law or listening to him when he asked them to disperse and the guy resisted. He did not beat any skateboarder in what I saw.
As far as what happened before this point we don't know do we - that part isn't on the tape.

PePe, you need your eyes ckecked. No one was beaten. The skate boarders were on a public sidewalk. Hot springs has an ordinance aginst that . They were violating the ordinance. THEY were told to get off the sidewalk. THEY wanted to argue about it . Not a smart idea. When you make a claim that the police were beating people, dont furnish video that makes a lier out of you.

Looks like good police work to me. The little rodents were probably boarding in a posted area where the cop took care of business. Good for him. Hopefully the punks learned a lesson from this.

Your only seeing part of the story.
Little ++++'s like that deserve to get beatin once in a while anyway. If not by a cop it would be by someone else.. and probably worse anyway.

Has anyone seen the reality of police all over the country who have to put up with abuse and be polite? No, that's often overlooked.

He did the right thing, I would do the same thing if I had to. If it was my kid who did that I wouldn't complain, here is the fact: you break "ANY" rule you should pay for it. But kids now a days think they can get away with anything.

Ive seen it and it is ridiculous. Ok so the kids arent suppose to be skateboarding no reason to put the kid (especially a girl in a headlock) or threaten to spray them with pepper spray. He was a cop on a power trip, he needs to pick on someone his own size.

I didn't see any force against the police officer, so he didn't have reason to do what he did. I don't care what kind of verbal abuse he took from them. Honestly, if he can't stand up to verbal abuse without keeping his cool, he should look for a different job.
