I wanted to be a writer, but I get the feeling God does not want me to be one. Of course I will obey him, but should I listen to my gut feeling all the time regardless of what I do in life.

"God" gave you freedom of choice, correct. Well then you should decide for yourself, and it doesn't make any sense, how do you know 'god' doesn't want you to be a writer?

You aught to test it. It's hard to tell sometimes what's a gut feeling and what's not. What is the story you want to tell the world? I find that if I have to ask, often that's a bad sign. I plunged ahead on by dream and I'm glad I did for I never would have, if I had realized how hard it was going to be. I never got there, but realized the more important dream of happiness. The studying paid off, and writing is study until you really have more to say then everyone else on the subject, unless you get a special niche or something. I find God works through out gut feeling, so that's critical and I'm thinking it's really your own thinking. The gut makes you sick to think of anything else. It's not thinking. Can you just ask? Try this.

Wow, it looks like you have all of your bases covered now.

+ If you fail at writing it's because god didn't want you to be a writer.

+ If you fail at doing something else then it's because you should have followed your gut and become a writer.

I have an idea--how about if you fail at being religious and write a book about it?

Granted, that gut feeling is very important to a Christian when making decisions but I would ask the Lord to confirm that feeling in some other way if He is guiding you away from writing. He will show you in another way if that is what He wants and then you will know for sure. God bless.

If you want to be a Writer, this is perhaps the Gift which God Has Given you. If it remains in your mind, follow your dreams.
There are going to be obstacles and challengers, but never let them stop you.

I am a Writer who has seen it all.

If your gut is telling you that your passion is to be a writer. Go write yourself a novel, girl! Life is about living and experiencing those joys that truly make us happy. To deny yourself that is to not live a full and meaningful life.

To Thine Own Self Be True....it is my belief that God does not want us to struggle, just to simply have faith and seek out the divines will...
If God has something different planned for you, god will let you know...who knows, it may just be butterflies.

I hope you find what it is you seek.

Blessed Be

Well, if you're going to obey what you think god is telling you then you might as well kiss your gut goodbye.

So you want to be a writer but 'God' doesn't want you to...What's he going to do? Kill you?

As mean as it sounds, you're going to die sooner or later..

Life is what YOU make it, not what the invisible higher power in the sky does.

only with regard to hunger.

If you want to be a writer, go for it! Wouldn't god want you to follow your dreams? Maybe you're just scared of failure and using god as an excuse not to try.
