Do you think that the Islamic way of life tends to make Muslims obsessed with sex. ?

Its basic human nature- separate the sexes since pre-puberty & dont allow them to interact, talk or even look at each other. The end result- you end up with a people who are obsessed with the other sex. In fact this supressed sexual frustration leads to violence & Islamic societies are among the most violent in the world.

If you dont believe me just go to
google.com/trends & type sex. The countries where the word "sex" has been searched on google will be listed from the max to min.
Out of the top 10 countries, 7 are muslim.
The "decadent" european countries & USA is nowhere in the picture.

I think all religion makes people obsessed with and have unhealthy attitudes about sex. The more repressive the religion, the more obsessed its adherents.

We are programmed to be sexual. It's probably our most primal urge, other than eating. To deny the sexual aspect of who we are is to deny ourselves. I think we need to be open and honest about sex, help people learn how to embrace that part of themselves in a healthy way.

I call this, the Amsterdam Phenomenon.

Weed is illegal is *most* countries, save for our tolerant friends in the Netherlands. So, you have your potheads there like anywhere else, but they can be out and in the open with it. Therefore, it's no big deal. Here in the US even a simple ounce of weed can get you some time in the slammer in *most* places, and it's generally frowned upon.

It's all about what one's society has deemed acceptable and what is accepted. That molds the status quo, and also, the behaviors of the people. Add religion to that, and you can easily create obsessions.

Not only does islam make people obsessed with sex, it ends up teaching them that they don't have to have self control. That is why there are so many extremists and violence. Nothing is their fault. An uncovered woman is just a piece of meat that deserves to be raped according to that Australian Muslim leader. It's not the man's fault that he was tempted. A wife has to submit or be punished. First you scold them, banish them from your bed and then beat them if they don't comply. Again, the man does no wrong and it's the woman's fault for not listening. Muhammad really covered all the bases when he made this stuff up. Anything goes for the man as long as he is doing it for allah.

There is an obsession with sex in many walks and avenues of life. The individual person need only learn to bridle his/her passions and not get carried away. This is what separates us from the animal kingdom. We live by more than instinct.

the men have told their women to cover up and be dignified so as to avoid having to feel lust at seeing any part of her body. - self control and discipline>? i think not

I think so. I think they're a bit sexually repressed because of all the staunch rules. If you think we Christians are uptight, then please do make an honest comparison. We are not that bad.
