make a triangle with ur thumbs and pointer fingers above ur head, make sure they are above ur head, spread ur fingers apart, and while the ball is falilng onto ur fingertips, push out. make sure u just use ur finger tips, or it could be illegal. i hope this helps. =) heres a picture of it being done...

A "set" is nothing more than volleying the ball up in the air so a team mate can deliver the "final blow"..which is usually a spike but can also be a tip.

A "set" is part of a what is called a "three point hit". The first hit is made by the receiver of a serve, the second is the "set"...(setting up the ball) for the final hit, the spike, tip, etc.

when you recieve a pass and are going to set it, get your whole body under the ball and raise both hands up, fingers spread. I don't like the triangle bit, what I do is I put my thumbs pointed towards my face so there is a basket for the ball to land in. Cradle the ball BRIEFLY in your hands and flick your wrists to send it packing. Your hands should be completely turned out after the flick. Hope this helps.
