first off i am appauled at many of the cristians who refused to see a doctor based on religion, i seriously would have expected better, and I for one am a catholic.
however I am currently finishing up classes to get my degree in psychology, I am wondering, atheists, and all other religions for that matter, aside from converting, what could I do to convince you I wanted to help heal what ails you, mentaly?

From what I've seen so far, you've asked Wiccans, Muslims, and now Atheists, how to religiously 'lure', for lack of a better term, into your office. That probably wouldn't be the best option. People will come to you in time, and over time they will let you know what their religious belief is but, first you have to gain their trust. I've been seeing my councilor for about four years and I don't think I told her until about a year and a half ago. She just told me a few months ago that she was an Atheist. Things will come out when they are ready, don't try to force them out or push your's on them. Having a religion, or lack there of, that's different than the main-steam is often kept hidden, from most everybody. Don't be surprised that it doesn't roll off the tongue, like it does onto the screen here.
Good luck in finishing!

I am not against going to a doctor. In fact, my program at school requires me to have personal psychotherapy. I have greatly benefited from it and feel that everyone who wants to live life in a fuller way should undergo psychotherapy.
From my own study in psychotherapy, humans have an immense desire to be loved perfectly. As a therapist you can do a good job, but can never completely satisfy such a deep need. I see no other place to turn for this love but to offer God's love as the most healing and fulfilling love. I realize that utilizing religion in your practice needs to be done wisely, but I see it as immensely beneficial.
Sorry, for all the flack you got for this question. I guess I am a little shocked myself that somehow being a Catholic you are not able to understand people. Sorry, but this is the crazy internet where people can actually say what they think and not be held responsible for it.

I hope your training will teach you to keep yourself, all your beliefs and notions from your practice and just be a sounding board that will lead the patients to discover the healing within themselves.
the first thing a psychologist needs to know is to be a clean vessel and accept all people as they are.

Don't charge a ridiculously high fee. That would be a good start.

Personally, I wouldnt see a psychologist that was a beleiver, because I would doubt that they could heal me of my illness when they are still under the spell of a mind virus themselves.

As a Catholic I doubt seriously you could understand my mental situation...unless you were willing to keep things very secular...

So Called ..... or ...... Pseudo Christians!
(Matthew 7:20-to-23) Therefore by their fruits you shall know them.
(Mat 7:21) Not everyone who says to Me, Lord! Lord! shall enter the kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven.
(Mat 7:22) Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! Did we not prophesy in Your name, and through Your name throw out demons, and through Your name do many wonderful works?
(Mat 7:23) And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness!
Perhaps YOU.... should Get IT STRAIGHT?
Thanks, RR

Let people come to you. Don't you go to them.
Above all - keep religion out of it.
