Using products that are too harsh and being too rough with your skin will, of course, cause your skin to be irritated - and susceptible to infection from present bacteria.

However, not washing your face often enough will clog pores and cause your breakouts to be just as bad.

Go to a good dermatologist and follow the regimen prescribed for you.

Not true. Scrubbing your face only helps rid it of the dead skin cells. Don't use a scrub brush or anything. Try using a terry cloth wash cloth, they're a little rougher than your fingers yet gentle on the skin. Most wash cloths are terry cloth anyway, so it shouldn't be hard to find one in your bathroom closet.

Scrubbing will spread acne because you are spreading the acne-causing bacteria. Instead, be gentle with your skin. Use your fingertips to wash your face.
