I'm a religious folk and I don't want to make it a "crime". But it is a sin. I don't think that homosexuals should be placed in prison or ostracised (sp?) due to their sexual preferences...God knows there are worse things going on in the world.
However, the Bible clearly states that homosexuality is a sin and that anyone that practices it will surely have death and not eternal life...therefore I believe it is wrong. But I do not judge those people nor do I want to see them hurt or harmed because of it. Any true Christian who does this needs to look in the mirror and see their own shortcomings in God's eyes.
Not all us "religious folk" are judgmental.

The way they boast their ego, become holier than thou, in their own eyes is by deluding themselves they are better than others. Because Gay folks tend to be non confrontational, lovers not fighters, the holey folks, only because they have holes in their thinking, use us as their target. Bullies always look for those they perceive as weak and attack them.

I am a strong Christian from a conservative background, and i was always brought up with loads of people saying "oh Jesus would be pointing his finger at people who are gay and scorning them" and my family always taught me this: Jesus would be walking with those people, not pointing AT them. so, not all religious folks should be pigeon-holed into this stigma.

It would be a way to segregate them away from their precious children. Maybe that is what they are thinking. They might also believe there would be a deterrent effect.

Because it's forbidden in the book of Leviticus. Now, if they wanted to be consistent, they would criminalize adultery and fornication too.

And working on the Sabbath (Saturday), and eating shrimp, and wearing clothes with more than one kind of thread in them...
