God Bless You for your question.

Let me ask you---if there is not a purpose to life, then why are there rules? Why not do whatever you wish with no regard to others? Why not lay in bed all day, scratching yourself to you heart's content? Why not just kill everyone that annoys you, and do whatever you wish to anyone anytime--rape, pillage, and plunder?

Why not? Because deep down, every living breathing person in their right mind (that excludes psychopaths) knows that there is a reason to live an honorable and productive life. And that reason goes beyond simply getting along with others. Humanity has a need built in to find out the answers to the questions that burn within, just like yours. It is not an accident that we have that desire to know what life is all about. It was put there on purpose by the Creator so that we would seek Him.

Acknowledge it or not. It is there, and it is not there by accident--just like God exists, whether you acknowledge Him or not.

I believe so. This is the meaning to life that everyone is searching for. It's different for each person. I believe "aspiring to greatness" is relative, as we each aspire to something different. I think the goal is to touch another with sincerity, compassion, empathy and love and to grow or to change for the better in the process.

Since we cannot all be Oprah Winfrey, Martin Luther King Jr., Princess Diana, Steve Irwin, Brad Pitt, Paris Hilton, Gandhi or anyone else you may gaze at with stars in your eyes, it's important to practice the simplistic act of stepping outside of yourself long enough and often enough, to ______________ .
You fill in the blank. It is up to you to decide how you are going to accomplish this.

If we are all a part of the same "stuff", then it would stand to reason that when you impact one person, you impact us all.

Happy hunting!

Our *primary* purpose in life is the same as every other creature--to pass on our genetic material via reproduction. In other words, we as humans are here to have sex and babies. (Luckily science invented birth control.) However, there is plenty of time when you aren't having sex to actually make something out of yourself through education, good deeds and other means of self-improvement. So get out there and start living!

Yes! Yes! Yes!

1.) The bible teaches us that, 'We were born to be true sons and daughters of the living God, our Father'.

2.) It also teaches us that, 'our purpose is to grow in the grace and the faith and the knowledge of God our Father and our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ'.

3.) It also instructs us, as true Christians, to strive, in conjunction with the power of the Holy Spirit, 'to overcome our sinful nature'.

4.) Of course, what goes nearly without saying, for all true christians, is that 'our conduct should be honorable, as members of the Family of God, and that we should strive to serve our fellow man, with an attitude of love and compassion, and to share the TRUTH of the Word of God and His 'Plan for all of humanity' with as many as we possibly can'.

(Whew! As 'true christians' we have our work cut out for us,' huh?).

God bless.

We all make our own purpose in life. We are not born for any other reason than to pass on our genes.

Why does life need a purpose imposed upon it from the outside? Why do you need to have someone or something tell you who or what you are?

I don't think so. The world is too intertwined to have one certian purpose or anything. Life is too complicated. You just live it for what it is.
