it might be on the idea of "choose conflicts big enough to make a difference and small enough to win"

I find this sickening: as if a man can't stand up to a woman standing up for herself.
Some men probably think a woman should always follow him and not question him. Some men probably don't like the sound of a higher-pitched, shriller voice arguing, like it's chalk scraping on a blackboard.
Some women probably don't know when to stop arguing: speak your piece, make sure he understands your point, but if he isn't convinced, drop it. "Drop it" doesn't mean give in; drop it means stop trying to make him give in.
If a man walks away from a woman arguing, and his reasons are sexist, he is not worth keeping.

At a point in the argument men have two choices walk away or escalate the fight, even to a physical confrontation. So walking away is the better of the two choices.

Because they know the woman is right, and he knows he doesn't have a ground to stand on!!!
And sometimes he's guilty of something, and he knows if he gets into a "touch" subject, that she will turn into a conversation about the past faults in the relationship.
Men that walk away from an argument with a woman, is a smart man!!!

In my case I did it because I was getting to angry, I even told her when we started dating that if an arguement got to the point I walked away don't follow, don't try to continue, don't do anything, just leave me alone and when I cooled down I would return and we could try again when I was calmer. Did she listen, care to guess. I just did it before something really hurtful flew outta my mouth.

I personally think it is disrespectful to yell, when it is a man yelling I stay to save face and or defend myself, if it is a women it is drama and I don't need that. If a person can not be civil I will ignore them man or woman.
I was recently in a cat fight, meaning a man who WHO IS USED TO FIGHTING WOMEN AND NOT MEN, so he just yelled a lot.
Away that's drama I do not do drama.

Because they know better. Good for those men because arguments are a waste of energy and are better left alone.

Because they have learned you simply can not win an argument with many females. So rather than to try and win the unobtainable, they simply do what is more intelligent. Allow her to stew all alone. God bless****

Thats easy because when a woman argues they argue until they have made their point there is no doubt that they will win. The guys just run away because they want to win but they know it will never happen so they basicly don't want to see or hear you at the moment

The combination of "broad" data base and emotions can cause a "brain cramp". It's one of those "social phenomena" that has been going on for eons. You have to handle it properly so as to minimize the "damage control" after wards.
