Don't be surprised. That is why Jesus was hung on a cross, to pay for our sins. The world does not accept who they don't want to believe.

I think Rachel above hit the nail on the head. I am a Christian, but I am honest with myself about the shortcomings of some believers and their sinful natures to see that many people professing to call themselves "Christians" are not very "Christ-like" in their behaviors. Let's face it - Jesus didn't berate people over their sin; he used parables to allow them to see the errors of their ways.

Patrick Morely, a famous writer who points his work toward Christian men describes this as the difference between "Cultural Christians" and "Biblical Christians." The latter actually read the Bible, discuss their faith and are active in a community of other believers. The former like the label, but really aren't committed to growing in their faith.

Ignore the ugly people on here, regardless of whether they profess to believe or staunchly deny that there is a higher power. Frankly, neither group is worth paying much attention to.

Well... it can be a great place to talk to other Christians. But, you are making an assumption, that only Christians are here. And, that those who are not Christians will leave you alone when you post a public message.

Anytime you make something public...you set yourself up for criticism. That is something to expect, realistically.

Well check this out! This is what we Atheists have to put up with. I personally don't care what religion someone is or isn't. My brother is a christian and we both accept each others beliefs. Not every Atheist is anti christian.

Dear cat,

The Lord tells us in John 15:18, 19 where we read, "If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you."

There are two kingdoms at war here. The Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of darkness-headed up by satan.

And then in swoops Tony, who's answer so perfectly demonstrates the meanness on the other side of the debate.

Open your eyes; it is not just one side being "mean".

If you want a Christian-only forum, this is not the place.

Poor child. Many people on this group think that christians are basically evil people. Perhaps you do not think of yourself as evil, but open you eyes and you will see that many people do. I don't care about your delusions, if only you were to keep them to yourself. Is that your plan? If so, you would be in the minority.

people fear and ridicule what they do not understand.

liberal media plays the stereotype Christian...if you see a professing Christian on TV, be ready...because before the show's end, that person will be revealed as a wife-beater, a racist, a child-molester...something.

the liberals fear Christianity, because deep in their twisted hearts they realize that God will eventually call them to task for the filthy lives they have led, and the outright lies they have told to lure other, unsus[pecting souls to destruction.

they fight against the 10 Commandments because their perverted lifestyles violate about 5 or 6 every few minutes, and they don't want to be measured against a moral guide that will expose them as gutter-trash.

it's like Oprah: you can dress up a gutter-snipe, but she'll still stink in hot weather.
